  1. Well yeah.. Because I can pick out a much more expensive car than I originally picked and pay the same price. I'd take that deal.
  2. I was on her in July with the middle package and never had any issues. I was able to check email and do most online tasks with no problem.
  3. Now that I'm booked on my first Journeys cruise, I am curious as to what the current 14 day menus look like. The only ones I can find are from 2-4 years ago so curious if anyone has any recent ones. (I realize my cruise isn't for 2 years and things could very well change by then, but I like to look at this kind of thing while I wait lol.)
  4. Yes. We've prepaid the day we left for the cruise. While that may not make sense to some people, I prefer to pay my gratuities outright and not on my credit card which I use for my onboard account.
  5. Well, to be fair, we are visiting for 2 port days, not living there. Most people who have been talk about how beautiful it is.
  6. Perfect! My cabin appears to have a similar view as 4141.
  7. I am almost ready to pay the deposit on one of the 2024 Pride Greenland cruises. Currently, I have a 4k interior obstructed view cabin on hold. Obviously, I'd prefer a balcony on this type of sailing, but it's already expensive enough so I figured I would try one of these for the first time. When selecting a cabin, is the best strategy to try and pick one as close to being between lifeboats as possible? Wanting to make sure I made a good choice before I lock myself in.
  8. I have August 18 on hold right now. My kids are homeschooled so the dates don't matter (and they aren't going anyway as this is an anniversary cruise lol) but 2 weeks at the beginning of their school year does concern me anyway. They attend tutorials so they do have certain dates they need to start by.
  9. Well I just put a hold on a room. Now to decide if I'm going to actually pay the deposit. 🙂
  10. John Heald just announced 3 more Greenland cruises in 2024. Dates: 05/26/2024, 08/18/2024, 09/08/2024 Sat Baltimore, MD 6:00 PM Sun "Fun Day" At Sea Mon "Fun Day" At Sea Tue "Fun Day" At Sea Wed "Fun Day" At Sea Thu "Fun Day" At Sea Fri Nanortalik, Greenland 7:00 AM 6:00 PM Sat Qaqortoq, Greenland 7:00 AM 6:00 PM Sun "Fun Day" At Sea Mon St. Anthony, NL, Canada 7:00 AM 4:00 PM Tue Corner Brook, NL, Canada 9:00 AM 5:00 PM Wed Sydney, NS, Canada 8:00 AM 4:00 PM Thu "Fun Day" At Sea Fri "Fun Day" At Sea Sat Baltimore, MD 10:00 AM That August date is tempting because our 20th anniversary is August 14, 2024. I'm just not sure about those 5 sea days at the start lol.
  11. We actually do have a general idea of the latest he could have gone over due to where he was found. He was found just south of the mouth of the Mississippi River. If he had gone overboard much later, he would have been further out in open ocean.
  12. Glad it's back for those who want it, but they have officially priced me out. $150 for my 7 day Mardi Gras cruise next year? No thanks.. I can think of plenty of other ways to spend that money.
  13. Just to clarify on this, they CAN. They just can't until after like 7:30 or 8pm.
  14. Maya Chan is my favorite excursion ever as well, but I'm not sure it meets the OP's criteria. If you just want a relaxing day on the beach with food and drinks included, there is nothing better. But the water tends to be murky and they definitely don't have any jet ski rentals. They do have kayaks and floats.
  15. This isn't just a Carnival thing. Try researching Disney itineraries. Granted, they only have a few ships but the number of itineraries to Castaway Cay and Nassau (at much higher prices than Carnival) is insane. Sometimes you can throw Cozumel in there too.
  16. Well technically, they've only been back to sailing for a little over a year after a 2 year shutdown so I'm sure that affects things.
  17. I don't know why, but yes the Celebration prices are great. However, my Mardi Gras sailing is still $200 less than a similar Celebration sailing for the same week next year. Or at least compared to what I paid, but I booked a year ago. The pricing of my sailing has gone up quite a bit since then.
  18. But they don't need some secret plan to make lobster unpopular and then use that excuse to cut it. They could just cut if they wanted..
  19. They've always offered small portions of any pasta dish. Honestly that may be what this email is actually referring to.
  20. I'm not bothered as a whole by this, but I am curious if this applies only to entrees or if appetizers and desserts count too. I'm much more likely to order multiple apps than multiple entrees. But you could also argue that since it doesn't specify this applies to appetizers and desserts that it should not (though whether it's worth arguing that is up to you lol).
  21. The changeover happened some time between April-June. When I cruised in March, we had the old fries and in July we had the frozen ones.
  22. It appears that Carnival is alternating the Mardi Gras and Celebration in Puerto Rico instead of outright canceling all calls there. It was canceled on my Mardi Gras sailing next October, but the ship is still going to Puerto Rico the week before and after. I think the port can't handle 2 large ships at once with the upcoming renovations. But of course any of this could change.
  23. Carnival revamped their lido cake selection a few years ago and they are much better than they used to be.
  24. I've cruised in every category from inside to balcony and never had a bad cabin. The only time I'd say to definitely get a balcony is for Alaska. Otherwise, it doesn't matter all that much especially with a deal like that.
