  1. Ok I forgot that I have also cruised out of Seattle (Alaskan cruise slipped my mind when typing that stat). It won't let me go back and edit. 🙂
  2. I've sailed the Dream twice. This is my only repeated ship. We have had Chris Williams as cruise director 3 times. Have never repeated any other director. I've sailed from New Orleans 5 times and only cruised from 2 other ports - Galveston & Mobile (adding Port Canaveral in October). I eat a breakfast burrito every morning of the cruise except for the morning we do Sea Day Brunch so I average 4-6 burritos depending on length of cruise. I've never attended a comedy show. I've only attended maybe 2 Playlist Productions out of every cruise I've been on. I've only gotten in the pools once out of all my cruises. I have NEVER gotten ice cream. Every cruise I have ever been on has included Cozumel except for my Alaska cruise. (My next 2 cruises do not have it as a port either.)
  3. I agree that part of the blame is on the OP, but a good agent would have been calling, texting, using whatever method they possibly could to get in touch with the customer before the final payment date. This is why I think it was either a terrible TA or it was one of these online 3rd party sites with no actual person monitoring anything.
  4. What they mean is it is the online TAs fault that this even happened in the first place since the OP never got their notifications to make payment. A good TA would have been reaching out to the OP any way they could to prevent the cancelation because the TA loses the sell too. I'm guessing this must have been a 3rd party cruise booking site and not an actual person.
  5. I've won the Bingo cards. Yes, chances are that you aren't going to come away a winner, but I enjoy it. It's more entertaining than Bingo with watching the contestant on stage as you play along.
  6. Would you recommend a car or water taxi from the cruise port to Atlantis (actually the Comfort Suites next to it) in Nassau? I've never been to this port and I'm the kind of person who needs to know exactly what to do and where to go when we get off the ship or I get anxiety about it. Depending on which you'd recommend, where do you go to find them once off the ship? And does anyone know about how much they cost?
  7. I haven't read all the replies, so this may have been pointed out, but that teenager did not jump off of a "cruise ship." The media reports on it made it sound that way, but it was a booze cruise type pirate ship excursion in Nassau. They were staying at Atlantis and not on a cruise.
  8. This is unfortunate and I hate that it gives TA's a bad name. I am one (and I'm really not sure if I'm even allowed to say that, but it isn't for advertising) and definitely don't run my business this way. Most likely, the TA has someone above them who owns the agency (unless they ARE the owner). You should visit the company's website and see if you can figure out how to contact that person for assistance.
  9. Fare only increases for your brother if she calls and cancels, so make sure she doesn't do that and instead just doesn't show up.
  10. If the TA purchased it out of their own pocket through the Fun Shops (which is usually the case), it is cruise cash and nonrefundable.
  11. Chicken quesadilla Crab cakes Alligator beignets (Although they resemble no beignet I am familiar with. Really they are more like fritters.) Filet mignon from elegant night Shrimp creole Lasagna Bolognese Jerk pork tenderloin Bitter n Blanc (And if you don't get the hype, just know that it used to be much better before they took it away and then brought it back with a slightly different recipe. It's still good though.) And there are many more, but these are off the top of my head. Is it bad that I'm kind of sad my next cruise is on the Mardi Gras and I won't be eating in the MDR as much? I know I COULD, but I really want to try the new included places like Chibang and there just aren't enough nights on a 7 night cruise lol.
  12. My kids are 14 and 10. They aren't toddlers.
  13. Well I had to contact Carnival's special needs department, but I was able to get it. Posting here just in case anyone else runs into this issue.
  14. That's good to know, however both are options my daughter will not eat. When I say picky, I mean PICKY lol. I guess if she's free anyway, we can grab her something afterwards but I don't want to be wasteful.
  15. Ok, asking again because I have asked and searched for a long time, and for something that must exist because they offer a kids price, it seems more elusive than the Loch Ness Monster or Bigfoot lol. Does anyone have a copy of the Rudi's Seagrill kids menu? I've even asked John Heald and he didn't have it. It's almost comical at this point. I want to book it, but I have a very picky kid, and even though we are staying in a Family Harbor cabin and she can eat there for free, I'd rather not book her if there is nothing at all she'll eat.
  16. I will add that she wants to do the cake decorating class, but I guess I'm worried about how difficult it may be for a child.
  17. Looking for suggestions on what the best cooking classes to do with kids might be. My almost 11 year old and I would like to do one together. Out of the offerings, she would probably be most interested in the pizza, cake, cupcakes, or ice cream classes, but I don't know which would be the most fun and interactive for children. Has anyone done these with kids and do you have any input?
  18. Adding them to your final payment, in essence, is "prepaying" them. It doesn't mean you have to literally have them paid. They just need to be prepaid as part of your booking.
  19. The ships do typically change on Alaskan itineraries, but it's not as common (though not impossible) on Caribbean itineraries.
  20. You can, but it's possible that Carnival will try to place a hold larger than what is actually on the cards and it may decline. I tried to pay using a prepaid Visa recently and ran into this issue. I had to pay less than what was actually on the card for it to go through.
  21. Yes, it's expensive compared to typical Carnival pricing, but it isn't all that bad compared to many other 14 night vacations to rare locations and that's how I justified it. I have not personally seen any Greenland offers by other cruise lines for any less (and maybe they do exist, but either I haven't found them yet or they've all sold out already so I can't compare). We're going for our 20th anniversary, so I'm splurging more than I normally would.
  22. Should be of the entire cruise fare. That's usually how these things work.
  23. Those saying "I've never had issues getting drinks in the casino." The difference is that a PREMIER cruise is full of people with the same DOU offer so there are fewer waiters and bartenders to handle the demand compared to a normal sailing with a casino offer.
  24. Not "concerned" at all. It is fun to me to dream about and plan my future trips. That's all.
