  1. @sid_9169 love your commentary. And shirts. Great stuff. I’ll be on the May Horizon cruise you’re on. I’m not a huge Alchemy guy but if I’m there and it gets busy, I’ll save my seat for you. I can’t lose money at the crap table sitting at the alchemy bar…..we live in Gainesville, GA and you picked a great time for this cruise. Safe travels
  2. There won’t be. Just wondering if they will spilt us up into 2 tables or 4 type of thing.
  3. Hey All, We have 16 going on the Horizon this May. 6:00 dining was booked so we all have YTD. We will waitlist for 6:00 and check with the Matre D when we board, but I wanted to see if anyone had experience with a large group with YTD. I know we won’t be able to sit at a single table, but do they split us up into tables of 4? And does a large group take a long time to sit? We will check in as soon as possible (5:30 or whatever it is). Basically, I’m looking for opinions on how hard I should try and get us 6:00 set time vs sticking with YTD.
  4. Well, I suppose it depends on any mobility issues. If you have none, it’s a short walk to me. Couple of minutes maybe?
  5. I do like some ships more than others but the ship itself is never the reason I cruise. feel for you if it makes that much of a difference. Maybe try a higher end cruise line?
  6. Anyone been on the Liberty recently and know when they typically start boarding? It’s been a while since I’ve been out of Port Canaveral. And I totally get it depends on previous disembarkation. Just looking for typical.
  7. I’m going to pick a random time and say….10:30?
  8. I think printed them at first but never needed them so we stopped
  9. This is an unpopular opinion but this is why I always book myself. I had an issue where a PVP messed up a simple thing and wouldn’t correct it. There is nothing a PvP can do that I can’t. But they can mess things up for sure.
  10. We go into airplane mode at sail away. And yes, bring your charger.
  11. I’m hung up on the not saving money by staying away from family. That sounds like a win-win to me.
  12. I like them. Least favorite thing is no Oceans plaza so sitting and listening to music can be tough in the atrium or casino bar. But I’d sail on them anytime.
  13. And $15 minimum on Mardi Gras and Celebration.
  14. Actually, you’re right, I did say that. Let me be clear, it was (and is) a stupid decision to rent a scooter on a port day. Any accident that comes from that, and the consequences of that accident, are the result of poor decision making. Does that mean they deserved it? Nope. But their poor decision making resulted in this. Whether they had insurance or their passports isn’t the issue to me. And they have now shifted a burden onto their families. Grats on that.
  15. I’m not saying it was stupid. I’m saying they did an activity that has foreseeable risks. Yes, accidents happen. But you can’t get hit if you don’t rent a scooter on a port day.
  16. No. I’m saying they engaged in an activity that has a huge chance both for something bad to happen and the outcome could be catastrophic. And were unprepared. Harsh is what they are putting their families through.
  17. I stopped watching when I heard they wrecked on rented scooters. Just stupid to do that. Insurance or no insurance.
  18. Well, given that it’s been 7 days, he wasn’t/isn’t on the ship (at least, not alive). I’m not sure what delaying things last Monday would have done. They searched the ship. He wasn’t on it. Unless he is some ship ninja. The most likely thing is, he jumped overboard and the detection system didn’t catch it.
  19. I did until they brought back the priority boarding for platinum/diamond so now it there’s no need. Unless I happen to be up at midnight.
  20. Haha. You serious, Clark? Not sure about anyone who doesn’t know Caddyshack quotes.
  21. At the end of the cruise, I tell the crew, there won’t be any gratuity. But on their deathbed, they will receive total consciousness. So they got that going for them.
  22. I’m guessing another cruise line might be better for you. There is zero Carnival is going to do about language.
  23. The only port I won’t get off the ship at all is Belize. Even on ports like Nassau, I like to get off and walk around if nothing else for some exercise.
  24. If you are worried about it being a booze cruise (and not sure what you would consider that), I agree with a 7 night or longer. I’ve only been on a few 4-5 days cruises and it definitely Had a different vibe to it. Not that it was bad. I had a blast.
