Just off Dream

hello!

My husband and I just got off the Dream today. This is our second cruise together but I’ve been on multiple with my family. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves. We are both 26, young professionals that enjoy drinking and eating. Ha! We also LOVE sports.

The good -

Our stateroom attendant was so sweet. He was seriously so great.

Our dinner waiter Robby and his team were absolutely fantastic as well.

The serenity area on Dream is much bigger and better than our past cruise which was glory I believe. We spent most of our time there when on the ship during the day.

The alchemy bar was our favorite spot. The two main bartenders Cesar and Anka are the bomb. Entertaining and the cocktails are top notch. We had the cheers package so we enjoyed all of them!

Punchline comedy club and piano bob were great evening entertainment.

The bad/annoying -

As I stated above my husband and I love sports and the fact that on Dream we couldn’t sit somewhere and watch a game without being overcome with cigarette smoke was so annoying and will be the reason we would never cruise on Dream again. The only place you can catch games on ESPN is the casino bar on deck 5. Seriously you ca. Smell the smoke all over deck 5. As a non smoker this is extremely annoying to me. Also- it’s 2018 how do people still smoke inside??? I definitely just wish Dream had a dedicated sports bar area that was non smoking. There is a TV on the back of the ship by the pizza but it’s just one tv and usually was on nascar. lol.

There is only one plug in the interior stateroom so make sure to bring a charger where you can charge multiple phones at a time.

TV channels sucked but we only were in there when were going to bed or getting ready.

Overall a great cruise but next time we will sail a different ship.

I am also not a fan of people smoking... I get that they need pacify the smokers but I wish the ship had better ventilation in the areas they are allowed to smoke.

If the Dream didn't have a designated sports bar I'm not sure you will find a Carnival ship that does. Lol

Several carnival ships have the Skybox Sports Bar. It's really awesome.

And...There is no smoking in there!! Go figure.

It appears Carnival will continue to keep a portion of the Casino area (and that usually includes 1/2 the Casino Bar) a smoking area.

We watched all the NFL playoff games at this bar. We just asked the bartender to change the channel

Aww man I thought the Dream had a sports bar. I'm sailing her during March madness.

O well, I guess I'll miss the games that week."

The Dream does have a sports bar, the games will be on.

Is there any part of the casino on the Dream that is nonsmoking?

It is the same as having a peeing and non peeing section in a pool. The sign doesn’t stop the smoke from spreading to the other part.

The smoking sections on board don’t stop the smoke from being in other places. Go into the theater or even at dinner and have someone sit next to you that was smoking on the smoking section. They reek of smoke

The games will be on, but the Dream doesn't have a sports bar. There are a lot of TVs in the casino bar, where they often show sports; but that's not the same as the sports bar you will find on other Carnival ships.

I have no idea why we didn't even think about smokers. We were worried that our room might smell but never thought about restaurants or bars. I am allergic to cig smoke. It's a pain but has been so nice since laws have come in effect with restaurants and stores lately. I am glad you posted this so I will be on the lookout and remind my husband that we have to try and find places to limit my exposure. We will be on the dream in late April.

The restaurants are fine - no smoking allowed. The main areas to watch out for are the casino, the outside area by the Alchemy bar, and deck 11 (only the port side I think) right above the pool. It really bothers me too, but it hasn't been a problem on the Dream.

Conquest class, triumph, vista have sports bars. They just left it out of the dream class. Dream doesn’t have everything. No red frog pub either.

well... I totally agree with the smoking problem. We had a very bad experience with a smoker below our balcony. We went out on the balcony and could smell smoke, we called guest services to report this; however they couldn't find out who it was. After several days trying to get them to go down to the cabin, they said they couldn't prove that anyone was smoking on the balcony and when they knocked on the door, no one answered. 2 questions> why couldn't they tell which cabin was directly below mine? don't they have a layout of the ship? and Why when a hazard is reported that they cannot access a cabin and go to the balcony and smell the smoke? We couldn't bring an electric clothes steamer because it is a fire hazard, but an open flame, via a cigarette lighter, is allowed everywhere on the ship. It was a horrible experience and I am shocked there was nothing they could do about it.
