American Icon vs. Silk for My Time Dining on Anthem of the Seas

Any reason to choose Silk vs. American Icon for an early (e.g., 6:00pm) My Time dining reservation. Everyone in our party is over 55 so fewer children is preferred and would prefer a to sit at a larger table and meet different people each night.

The dining rooms only differ in decor. Plus, I believe your dining room will automatically be assigned.

You don't get to choose. You go to whichever dining room they assign you to. It will be on your Sea Pass card.

American Icon is usually if you have reservation pre-booked. Silk is for no reservations. That said, they may put you wherever there is a table available.

If we do not pre-book how long is the usual wait if we dine earlier in the evening if we say we will eat with other people (share a table).

That is exactly the way it's been on my 160+ nights on Anthem. They will also, on occasion, put you in Grande or Chic if it's very crowded.

The wait is usually short (even during prime time). The dining room has mostly 2-top and 4-top tables. Sharing won't get you in much faster. The hostess tries to place you with the same waiter,,, it is faster if you take first available table. Just for variety in decor (the food is the same), we had the hostess switch us between restaurants, eventhough we had reservations.

We pre-booked on Anthem in July and were assigned a table in Silk. Group of 7. Same table every night.

We request Silk and usually are seated there. We do have MTD reservations but they are pretty good at honoring requests.

We did MTD with reserved time. Always was seated on time with no waiting. Same table and waiters at all meals. Both restaurant menus are identical only the decor is different.
