Thanks for posting the "Welcome" pages.

I noticed the word "Freestyle" when referring to the Sodas.

Freestyle reminds me of NCL.

They have 2 Coke Freestyle machines (the ones that have over 100 varieties) and they have cups with RFID chips in them so they only work for those that they should be working for

Also a couple self serve beer taps working in a similar way

"Freestyle" is actually the branding nane of the machines, go figure!

Thanks for posting Brad. I LOVE they're bring orange back into the fold. As a designer that's a well-designed book, too. Kudos to HAL on that.

Thanks Brad. Looks great.

I did notice that early in the book, under the heading Restaurants, Taste of Librije is noted as $49 while a few pages later under the Fine Dining heading it is noted as $69.

Guessing $49 for the food and $69 includes wine pairings?

We booked it for our upcoming cruise and it was $69, there was no $49 option. Hmmm need to investigate further

Thanks for posting the Koningsdam information.

I was struck by the lack of dollar signs on most of the prices. Is that something modern or artsy or what?

It saves (re)printing costs of prices rising later. Also says work. Same reason many restaurant menus posted online don't have prices.

It's normal business practice for me too (I own a design firm).

It makes sense that the higher price is for wine pairings, although, it certainly isn't clear.

On our Dec cruise, we were really interested in the Cabana Dinner, but as we rarely drink alcohol, we passed on it due to all the alcohol being served. I really wish HAL would offer dry options with its specialty dining options.

Prices are listed without the dollar sign, for example:

scotch and soda package 35

kick start 4.95

mimosa 3.95

Might be artsy, might be modern, might save a teaspoon of ink every few thousand copies. Maybe it is gauche to use a dollar sign. I miss the dollar sign and think that "US$" would be proper on a cruise line with an international clientele.

Many restaurants are doing this now. They also eliminating the .95 or .98 and going with even dollar or half dollar prices (i.e. 9 or 9.5 instead of $9.00 or $9.50). I'm sure in focus group testing this has proven to increase sales as the dollar sign before a price reminds people that it is real dollars. Same reason casinos use pretty colors of chips instead of money- people look at it as play money and spend more.

I worked in the executive offices (in marketing and development) for a major casino and was amazed that every detail down to the uniforms in the restaurants and everything people saw and smelled was all geared to get people into the casino and gambling.
