reddirtgirl Posted March 7, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2010 Just curious how many swimsuits you take with you - I have 2 but am considering getting a third; On my last two vacations 2 was plenty - wear one, while the other is drying; How many do you take? Houndmom Posted March 7, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2010 I take a minimum of two. I take three if there is room for another. :)
cb at sea Posted March 7, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2010 As many as I have that fit, are in good shape and I like! At least 2, tho! Swimsuits don't take up much space (at least, mine don't!)
iheartbda Posted March 7, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2010 I take a minimum of two. I take three if there is room for another. :) There's always room for Jello....ummmm, another suit.:D Last time I think I took 6 but it was a B2B, so averaging, 'bout the same as you.;)
UKBayern Posted March 7, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2010 It depends.... I have white english skin, and cannot sit in the sun very long. Maybe you are the opposite and like to sit on deck all day every day. I am not a very swimmy person on the ship and we don't go to the beach when in port. Maybe you are. If you are like me 1 bathsuit is more than enough, if you are quite the opposite, three might be a good idea. It depends on what you are planning. mehitabel Posted March 7, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2010 I bring two, plus two swim shirts and two pairs of board shorts to wear over them. All very squishable fabrics, so they don't take up much room.
Andee Posted March 7, 2010 #7 Share Posted March 7, 2010 I've never owned more than two swimsuits at a time, so that's how many I take.
Happy ks Posted March 7, 2010 #8 Share Posted March 7, 2010 It depends on the trip. If it is cooler weather and I know we'll only be making one trip (sometimes none) to the solarium I'll only take one. If it is a warm weather cruise, I'll take 3-4. Even though I like to pack light, bathing suits take up almost no space, so I don't think anyone needs to cut back if they don't want to.
househunter Posted March 7, 2010 #9 Share Posted March 7, 2010 I take 3, all with different type tops. One that has straps like a bra, one a halter and one an x back. That way I can choose the one that looks best under what I am wearing for the day!:)
T&Dcruisers Posted March 7, 2010 #10 Share Posted March 7, 2010 On my last 7 day, I packed 7 and I wore every single one of them. Swimsuits take up no room and if you roll them and pack them in shoes or in between items, you can get them all in.
Rare Lois R Posted March 7, 2010 #11 Share Posted March 7, 2010 Hi, 2 or 3. I have never owned 7 bathing suits at the same time before. I live in Florida but am not a beach person. I think I have 3 right now.
Keksie Posted March 8, 2010 #12 Share Posted March 8, 2010 I take at least 4. We are beach and pool people.
toxicfairy Posted March 8, 2010 #13 Share Posted March 8, 2010 I buy a new one or two every summer. But I only take 2 or 3 with me. Other wise you'll find them all over the cabin.
4canucks Posted March 8, 2010 #14 Share Posted March 8, 2010 I take 6 as I never know which one I will feel like wearing. One specifically for the hot tub and others for the beach. They take very little room.
Host Faith Posted March 8, 2010 #15 Share Posted March 8, 2010 I usually take 3-4 with me. I change them depending on my mood, and there is always at least one hanging on the balcony to dry. 2 bikinis/tankinis, and 2 one-piece suits. We love swimming in the ocean on port days, as well as hanging out in the jacuzzi late in the day so 3-4 suits always come in handy :D
poobears Posted March 8, 2010 #16 Share Posted March 8, 2010 I take one, I never use the ship pools or hot tub so just need one for the port if I'm doing something water related. This year we are doing Atlantis so I may take 2. Then I can change out of one suit, go eat lunch, hit the casino and change into a dry one if I want to use the water park again. Qmadam Posted March 8, 2010 #17 Share Posted March 8, 2010 I take three or four. We cruise to relax and hardly ever get off the ship. Last cruise was a B2B three week cruise and we got off three times. The majority of our time is spent at the t-pool and spa. We found the most wonderful time to use the t-pool (Celebrity) was evenings. No one else was there. So I like to have a dry suit to put on when I need it and I did find it takes a long time for my suit to dry hanging in the cabin.
BND Posted March 9, 2010 #18 Share Posted March 9, 2010 I've always only taken two. I've never had a problem with them drying and no one really cares or notices if you wear the same suit all week, so why pack them. They do take up space, actually rolled up, they're larger than any of my shirts.
amandaooooo Posted March 9, 2010 #19 Share Posted March 9, 2010 Ummmm.... So this is kind of embarrasing but I own a LOT of bathing suits. For a 7day cruise I may take 6-8 suits. I never know what one I may want to wear and I can change up my tan lines (or sunburn lines). Plus I hate to put on a wet suit.
simplelife Posted March 9, 2010 #20 Share Posted March 9, 2010 I usually take 3. I hate to put on a wet suit, and there are days we might do a beach excursion, and then I will want to go in the pool or hot tub later. I like to take a couple of different styles. I am a light packer, but suits don't take up much room or weight.
toopeachy Posted March 9, 2010 #21 Share Posted March 9, 2010 Because I got them on sale after season for a lot less and they all looked great on me (GO FIGURE) I am proud to say that I purchased $368.00 worth of bathing suits for less than $9.00! And THAT is why I took all 3 of them. But the weather was cool and rainy and I only wore 2 of them. Personally though I think 3 is more than enough. I mean good grief; if you wash one out in the shower / sink and hang it to dry it will dry overnight!
sandravb79 Posted March 9, 2010 #22 Share Posted March 9, 2010 About 7 or 8. I hardly wear them but since I have them, I figured I should take them because you never know I might need them (never need a bathing suit at home). Makes sense, right? ;)
mousey Posted March 9, 2010 #23 Share Posted March 9, 2010 I take a one-piece for use in the spa, and then one for each shore excursion we do that involves being in the water, be it a beach day, or snorkel excursion. How ever many it takes.!:D I never rewear a swimsuit while on vacation. I like nice clean, fresh ones everytime. Plus I'm on vacation and don't want to wash or rinse any clothes at all.:D
sandravb79 Posted March 9, 2010 #24 Share Posted March 9, 2010 mousey, when you say a swimsuit for in the spa, is that for the steam rooms? I always wanted to try them out, but I was too scared to do it because I thought you were supposed to be naked.
Rare CruisinCrow Posted March 9, 2010 #25 Share Posted March 9, 2010 I take 2 - 3 if I have 3 that I really like. I agree about hating to put on a wet bathing suit so I definitely need at least 2.
