Rare Cayman Turtle Posted April 8, 2018 #1001 Share Posted April 8, 2018 Ship - Grandeur of the Seas Deck - 2 Stateroom # - 2022 Stateroom Category – I - Large Ocean View Stateroom Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Little to no foot traffic noise. A couple of times in the middle of the night we heard a loud bang from somewhere below us. Might have been a door slamming shut. We had rough weather for several days so this may have been a factor in the banging. Didn't hear it every night. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – No balcony, but a port hole. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - N/A Was wind a problem? - N/A If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - Cabin itself was fine. No issues. Any other comments? - We had several days of rough seas and because the cabin was fairly far forward, the motion felt in the cabin was more intense then towards the middle of the ship. I could sit in the Centrum and feel fine, but as soon as I went to the cabin I would start to feel motion sickness. Just a personal preference, but I would choose a cabin further back the next time. stp_mmh5 Posted April 8, 2018 #1002 Share Posted April 8, 2018 Ship - Symphony Deck -10 Stateroom # - 10229 Stateroom Category - 2J Central Park Balcony Starboard or Port Side - Port Side Quiet Stateroom? For the most part. There was something loudly shifting around in service room next door on rougher seas. Also on really windy days, we could hear the wind coming through Central Park and pool deck music in the day. At night it was very quite and peaceful. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Balcony overlooks Central Park and is centered above the Trellis bar. Great views of the park and is great for people watching. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Double wide balcony as it adjacent to the living wall. Was wind a problem? - Not at all, the ship blocked the strongest breezes and just had a nice amount of air moving through. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? None Any other comments? Central Parks balconies come with three perks. A bottle of red wine, a lunch for two at either Jamie's Italian or Johnny Rockets, and an invitation to gambling lessons at the casino. WVHillbilly Posted May 9, 2018 #1013 Share Posted May 9, 2018 (edited) Ship - Oasis of the Seas Deck - 10 Stateroom # - 684 Stateroom Category – D6 Ocean View Balcony Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Side Quiet Stateroom? - Room was very quiet, in fact the only noise we heard was an occasional door shutting and did hear people walking in what appeared to be the room above and aft of us. We did not notice any noise coming from the connecting room door. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - This was a connecting stateroom, the door was located opposite the bathroom, so it did not have any impact on the room it's self. Balcony View - View from the balcony was not obstructed. Balcony Size? - Normal sized balcony, contained two chairs and a table. Was wind a problem? - No problems with the wind. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Room was several cabins aft of the aft elevators but forward of the smoke stacks so we did not have any soot on the balcony. Any specific problems with this cabin? - None Any other comments? - Bed was located next to the balcony with a sofa bed between the bed and closet. The room has two dim lights over a picture above the sofa and at the foot of the bed, these were to bright for me to use as a night light as I prefer a near dark room. We did leave the bathroom light on at night and even with the door closed it provided enough light to find the toilet in the middle of the night. Rare Rogueperson Posted May 24, 2018 #1019 Share Posted May 24, 2018 Ship - Grandeur of the Seas Deck - 3 Stateroom # - 659 Stateroom Category – Interior Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Surprisingly quiet. There is a huge blank space next to these bank of rooms. I thought it was the kitchen, but I heard nothing behind the bed (where I expected the kitchen to me.) However, unbeknownst to be, the deck plan is not accurate. Viewing the deckplan, you would think there is nothing aft of this room, but in actuality it is an outdoor crew lounge. From reading some crew behind the scene articles and posts, it appears that once per cruise (at least it was once on this 9 night voyage I took 4/26/18 - 5/4/18) there is a MAJOR party that takes place out there. We're talking loud bass like you were next to a club. I actually had to call security twice, and nothing was done about it. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No Any specific problems with this cabin? - Yes. I complained and it was fixed multiple times, but there was sewage smell from the bathroom. It was night and day really. When fixed, there was NO smell, but then all of a sudden, the smell would return. It was minor except the very last day where it was overwhelming, but I was ready to disembark when this happened. INGODWETRUST Posted May 29, 2018 #1023 Share Posted May 29, 2018 Special thanks to Mysticks1 on the Celebrity Cruises forum for this idea. I would like to begin to assemble one for Royal Caribbean. To the moderators, I would appreciate if we could make this a "sticky" at the top of the page for all to see. Every week or two I will post a PDF for all the ships and cabin information compiled here. Please, refrain from posting cabin questions here so this can purely be an informative thread, especially for those that are first time cruisers or seasoned cruisers looking for a great cabin. The template is as follows: Ship - Anthem of the Seas Deck - 12 Stateroom # - 168 Stateroom Category – 1D Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – no Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – good Balcony Size? Depending on wind, suffered smell from smoking passenger 10 - 15 rooms away. And the marijuana smell while docked at Jamaica was pretty strong. Not sure if it was on the ship or from the port! Besides that, the view was enjoyable. Balcony Size? - Normal sized balcony, contained two chairs and a table. Was wind a problem? - No problems with the wind.
