laumicmah Posted March 8, 2011 #155 Share Posted March 8, 2011 I know it will not happen, but I would love to see her (or another large Carnival ship) operating out of Savannah. The semi-derelict slip next to the hotel on Hutchinson Island could be cleaned up and be a great cruise port. Doc I'm with you.

spencercoop Posted March 8, 2011 #157 Share Posted March 8, 2011 I know it won't happen, but I vote Baltimore. It would be impossible for the Breeze to be homeported in Baltimore. She is too large to fit under the bridge.
CruiseAdict218 Posted March 9, 2011 #158 Share Posted March 9, 2011 I'm sorry but why do people vote for New Orleans? They are getting the Conquest and Ecstasy soon so I dout Carnival would do another switch. I think the following ports COULD receive her Ft. Lauderdale or Port Canaveral to compete with Disney/RCI New York, really depends replace the Miracle and do Caribbean or do Canada/ New England and Glory does Caribbean? Charleston, if she can fit Can she fit in Norfolk? not a popular port and the Glory has calls there Maybe she could be based in Europe for a little while past her Maiden season San Diego could get her ONLY if the economy improves but they would probably get a Spirit Class to replace the Spirit Just my two cents from what I been reading
Crusin6 Posted March 9, 2011 #159 Share Posted March 9, 2011 You know Carnival doesn't want to sail year round from New York. well..they should be doing it..NCL has 2 ships year round...there is room for more!
CruiseAdict218 Posted March 9, 2011 #160 Share Posted March 9, 2011 well..they should be doing it..NCL has 2 ships year round...there is room for more! Royal Caribbean has the Explorer in NJ so I agree they really should, they could pull in a lot more

cccer Posted March 9, 2011 #164 Share Posted March 9, 2011 I'd vote for Chicago since it would be so easy to get to, but even I have to admit, it would be a pretty boring cruise.

MountainLakesDrive Posted March 9, 2011 #168 Share Posted March 9, 2011 Where would you like the Carnival Breeze's home port to be? I agree with "kazbar" and would add Perth (Fremantle), Australia and closer to home for many of us, Norfolk, Virginia

DVC Sadie Posted March 9, 2011 #172 Share Posted March 9, 2011 Good points. ... having said that though... I must admit that the cruise we just got off of on Saturday (NCL Epic) FULLY met all of my expectations. On that cruise we: > Had a CC Meet-n-Greet attended by 8 senior officers (including the Captain)! > Saw Blue Man Group > Watched Legends in Concert (Neil Diamond, Janet Jackson, Aretha Franklin) > Bowled (6 lanes onboard - two places with 3 lanes each)... $5/game > Second City Improv (adult show) > Murder Mystery Lunch w/Second City ($20) > Enjoyed THREE water slides > Enjoyed an Ice Bar ($20 w/2 drinks included) > Enjoyed Slam Allen in Fat Cat's (Jazz/Blues bar) > Ate in a different restaurant each night: ...... Shanghai's - Chinese $15 ...... Teppanyaki - Japanese Steakhouse $25 ...... Moderno - Churrascaria (Brazilian Steakhouse) $18 ...... Cagney's - Steakhouse $25 ...... Le Bistro - French $20 ...... Cirque Dreams (dinner and show) $20 > O' Sheehan's - FREE - Family Sports Bar and Grill... Wings, Fish& Chips, Tuna Melt, Meat Loaf, Chicken Pot Pie... and ON and ON! This was a great place AND it was open 24/7 !!! I have never encountered as many people doing B2B's as I did on the Epic - and I can see why. It's difficult to take in all this "resort destination" has to offer in 7 short days. We missed Nassau, so that helped! :) I am not putting down Carnival (by listing this on the Carnival board), but am rather trying to get some of you (even 1 lone soul) to give this AMAZING ship a try. At least those who wouldn't balk a spending a few bucks along the way for an extra special trip! (I don't consider this being nickel and dimed!!) Tom Okay, now that I've seen this I am going to mosey on over to see where the Epic is sailing in the next 10 months. :D We usually sail Celebrity and haven't been on a Carnival cruise in 7 years but will be booking the Christmas and NYE cruise out of NOLA. Thanks for your post, I'm definitely intrigued.

After the return, it looks like it will be an eastern route EACH week. Tom
