Capt. Johnny said on Twitter that he is taking over as Captain today. I guess things are just a bit different with the chartered cruises. Would love to go on the Atlantis sailing!

Normally both new Captains are on the ship for sea trials but only one (the inaugural Captain and in this case Captain Rob) is on the ship before at the yard and after hand over for the first cruises. The first rotation with Captain Rick taking over should be sometimes in May.

Is Captain Tor Olsen coming back to Serenade again, or is his name just there until we know who is replacing him?

 

as I understand it, his name is just there until we know who's replacing him. In other words, I forgot to erase his name and put in the ?'s

I wonder who will replace him. I'm doing a 21 night B2B on Serenade starting March 19th which is right about when he or his replacement should be due back.

Given the 10-week rotation schedule, I’m guessing it’s safe to assume that Captain Espen will still be on Freedom for the March 25th sailing? I’ve never sailed with him before, looking forward to it.

 

it's going to be close, March 25 may be a rotation date. The last rotation was 11 weeks making the date he goes off April 8. If they go back to a 10 week rotation, then he'll be off March 25.

I have a friend doing a b2b on Serenade. He mentioned that it was announced that Captain Ante will be doing one more rotation on Grandeur in March then moving to Serenade in June as master. He wasn't sure who would be going to Grandeur but wondered if it would be the current captain on Serenade.

Is Captain Ante on GR now? I have Capt Thor on until 2-18. Ask your friend if he/she can find out dates. I don't think Capt Kristoff would be coming from SR to GR as that would still leave 1 slot to fill on SR. Capt Tor is at a desk job in Miami and will not be master at sea for a few years.

It's an ego boost to be a fleet captain. He was on ship, then based in Miami, then back to sea. They have to actually master a ship for a few years every 3-5 years. So he's worked at sea enough to keep his Master Mariners license so he's going back to what he did before.

Will check. He said that what he heard was Captain Ante would be on Grandeur in February so the 18th is possible. Capt Kristoff was, I think, a guess on his part but I found it interesting.
