He is a wonderful person - great sense of humor. We always enjoy sailing with him.

Joanie.....wasnt he on our RD cruise(as a temporary)?? I know I recognize him from somewhere..(never mind..............answered my own question....found a pic and yes,its the same one--he is REALLY nice)

 

 

Think we'll have Capt Rob on the FR Oct 23rd??

I'm just the messenger:eek:. I haven't heard anything to indicate that there is a deviation from the 10/10 schedule. Your cruise is 11 weeks after he last signed on.:eek:

Hmmmmmmm Tor Olsen does sound familiar............wonder what other ships he has been on?:confused:

 

I looked for a picture on webshots and found a picture of Capt. Tor right away. This picture happens to be with cruise friends we met on Enchantment of the Seas - Tim and Candace - before we met them. I think you must remember Capt. Tor from Mariner of the Seas. This picture is from that ship in 2004.

He sounds familiar to me but I also don't remember seeing him ever. I must have cruised on Enchantment during the time he was there but I only remember Capt. Srecko from that time. I kind of doubt I had the same captain every time I cruised enchantment. I guess some of us only had our eyes open for Julian during those years. :)

I have been on Freedom, too. I bet that's where I remember the name from. It sounds so recently familiar and Freedom is much more recent than Enchantment for me.

We were on Freedom in Nov. 2007 and Captain Tor was our captain. He was our captain in Feb. of this year and we were upgraded to a GS so I got to speak to him at the reception for suite guests.

We enjoyed Capt. Johnny so much on Mariner and were delighted to see that he

is on Allure right now -as we are booked in December, but since his rotation started in June - we are wondering if he will still be on Allure in December.

Does anyone know how long the rotations last?

I looked it up. We had Capt Manolis Kasselas on Freedom in Sept 2009. On Enchantment the last 2 times we had Capt. Been and Capt. Bann (Srecko).

 

I specifically remember that name Olsen because I don't think he pronounced it the way I would have. Of course it could have just been the Norwegian accent but I thought he say Oysen without the L as I would say it. I wonder if this is all my imagination. :o

 

Now I remember Capt Manolis, I can't imagine how I forgot him. He described himself as the smallest captain on the largest ship. :) He was a real character walking into the bridge with a tray of donuts. I hadn't seen his picture so I thought it was a room service delivery. :)

Tor Olsen joined RCI many years ago. First Command was on Splendour of the Seas in 1998.
