Unlimited Soda & More Package

I KNOW that one cruise it was on there when we were handed our card.

And

I seem to recall that lat time it was actually printed on our card (but now I am wondering if that was Princess or another line, but I think it was Princess).

Thank you, I've NEVER pre-purchased the sticker so I haven't a clue how the ship does it.

I've read on Cruise Critic that the Mocktail price has increased to USD$5. As I can get the Soda and More Package in Australia, it doesn't bother me, but I HAVE seen the same price mentioned for an Australian ship-forgotten which one.

I'm 14 calendar months and 11 days out from sailing, and information is coming in at a steady rate. Princess advised the taxi costs for Melbourne, much appreciated, and duly noted for future reference; Sydney transport is my cousins' responsibility and I know the Adelaide and local transport costs from years of travelling for cancer treatment and follow-up monitoring. Great excitement last year when the Specialist officially "discharged" me!

Have noted to keep On Board Credit "earmarked" for a possible Sale on the last Sea Day, with the chance-hopefully-of getting some souvenirs from the previous season's cruises. I won't mind being able to grab some Alaska or maybe Caribbean or European t-shirts, pens, magnets, or mug. A friend is sending money with me to buy her a t-shirt-did tell her about the possible saving and that I would wait until the last day to maximise my chance of getting a bargain for her-she's fine with that. -

I still check in here several times a day, looking for hints and tips I can use, or have overlooked as being of use to me! I do learn something every time, so it's fun AND educational!

For the folks saying root beer isn't included, the Princess website says otherwise (the following is copied from my cruise personalized page, in the "on board reservations" section, under beverage passage). Note the last line:

Unlimited Soda & More Package$8.05 per person, per day

Indulge in this premium Unlimited Soda & More Package that includes the Unlimited Soda Package plus any mocktails, juices, and hot chocolate throughout your cruise.

Unlimited Soda Package$5.18 per person, per day

Receive a souvenir tumbler and select from a variety of unlimited fountain dispensed soft drinks, including Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Ginger Ale, Tonic Water and Soda Water served by the glass at all bars and restaurant locations throughout your cruise.

Canned Rootbeer is included as well.

On Diamond now, micktails $5 Aus.

Soda and More was $7 a day.

OK, here's a different twist on a question. My daughter has a medical condition that limits her mobility. It is often easier for me to be the "go-fer" on things around the ship. Can I take HER card with the sticker to the appropriate location, get something, and bring it back to her in the room?

I understand that the stickers are "per person" and not intended for sharing--that's not what we are doing. There's just no sense in me buying a card since I don't drink carbonated beverages.

Basic question--do they scan the card, see a photo that is obviously not me, and reject the card? Or will they allow me to use her card to get a beverage for her?

Yes, you can take her card and get the drink on her behalf. Normally you just flash the sticker. It is only on Celebrity where I've seen them swipe the card (and they do it every time). Even then, I don't know if they're looking at the picture or just tracking how many drinks you get.

OK, thanks! Yes, on Celebrity they swipe it every time and when you get your print out at the end of the cruise it lists 60+ cans of soda, each with a 0 charge. I never had any problem there getting one for her. The weird thing is that they wouldn't leave the can at dinner. The glasses they used only held about half of the can but they insisted on removing and trashing the other half.

Thanks--makes it SO much easier if I can get it for her.

Does anyone know if any of the packages include sparkling water such as Perrier or San Pellegrino as my DW doesn't drink any kind of soda regular or diet

Any help would be greatly appreciated

As noted in the above post, the soda packages include "fountain dispensed...Soda Water served by the glass"

Bottled water, whether still or sparkling, is included in the alcohol package only.

And further to the above discussion on Mocktails they were $5 each back in November 2014 on Ruby Princess so the menu posted in September was already well out of date. (And the chocobanana was no longer on the menu though available for the asking)

Just a little info, the Mocktail Menu has a lot of great drinks on it, but you are not limited to it. You can order any 'Virgin' drink that you would like. Margaritas, Daiqueris, etc. I love a virgin tequila sunrise. Also, if you order hot chocolate from a bar instead of in the dining room, it comes in a big pretty glass with whipped cream. My kids loved ordering that at the evening shows.

I have been wondering the same thing. They are not listed any more in the description on the Princess. I know the newer ships don't offer milkshakes at all. We love to have a shake with a burger. We will be on the Grand in December. I will be anxious to find out! Not that I need any extra calories on a cruise!

I too am wondering about the shakes, we're booked on the Caribbean Princess and that's the only reason we pre-ordered the package as it originally included shakes.

What is a vacation if you can't indulge a little as part of a soda package? It isn't like I'm getting excessive simple carbs anywhere else!

Fingers X-ed, hoping shakes still included.

It's been a long time since our last cruise but I remember how my husband and I found ourselves most afternoons sitting by the aft pool enjoying a milkshake. It's funny because I don't think we ever do that in real life but it was a fun and relaxing. Hope our Alaska cruise is not too cold to relive the memories

That's one of the little joys, doing those things you don't do at home.

Home for a week now, shakes definitely included on Diamond. Though they are a bit small, but when they're free you can always just grab another.

A tip on the no jito mock tail, made in grapefruit it really takes your breath away, ask to have it made on pineapple juice and it's much better.

THANK YOU for the "Heads Up" about asking for pineapple rather than grapefruit! That's the sort of invaluable "Insider" information that enhances a cruise!

Pretty well everything's organised for me. Need to replace my orange shoes and buy the rash vest and sunscreen for sun protection, but otherwise it's finish paying for the cruise; hotels and flights bookings and some Culinary Delights, the Soda and More Package and On Board and Casino Credits still to do. Will leave most of the Gifts to be bought on board, read about a Discount Coupon, and with what souvenirs I've listed to buy, should easily qualify for the discount! :D I will need to replace my watch and need a large clear watch face for easy viewing-prefer hands as digital can be tricky with my eyesight. Do you know the approximate price range of watches on board, and which shop this newbie needs to go to please? My last watch, which is misplaced and thorough searching hasn't found it, fear it fell in the rubbish and was thrown out, was a Citizen large dial face with a golden band. Paid several hundred $$ for it, but received many compliments on it's appearance.

Always enjoy your posts-LOTS of information shared generously!

On diamond watches ranged from about $15 to $15,000.

I was keen on an anniversary watch, a Citizen Eco-Drive with the Princess logo, unfortunately they didn't have the men's, but I think the ladies was $225, a great buy when they are about $400 on land for the same watch.
