I imagine that as the day wears on the posting rate may slow a bit as people get ready for this evening even if it's just cooking their own dinner at home. The only reason I'm on right now is that we're going to have a phone meeting with friends about our Med cruise here in about 45 minutes.

well it's good to see you hear just the same:D Have a Happy New Year Randy :D BTW - did you see the Prinsendam's very nice itinerary on May 17th, 2013? Check out the 31 day collectors' cruise:)

I think they are in Pennington, NJ actually. At least I know some of them are as I asked them about a job that was posted for that area. Either way if they are in NJ they are in my time zone.

Happy New Year back at you! :D No, I haven't seen the Prinsendam cruise but for almost the first time ever I'm focused on the upcoming cruise and haven't thought much past that. As you know we're probably moving away from HAL as our cruise line of choice and we really want to check out Silversea before we explore other lines. That said I'd love to go on a 31-day cruise but inasmuch as Mrs. K still works she'd have to stay home and take care of the cats. I have mentioned the potential for me to go on longer cruises now that I'm retired and she doesn't seem all that supportive for some reason. :o:)

Hey Mr. L (dh) still works too, but he's willing to use up most of his vacation time for this fascinating itinerary:D I knew you were moving away from HAL but no one else had this itinerary that I could see. The Prinsendam still offers some of the best itineraries out there. We really enjoyed the ship BTW:)

I don't know this stuff, I just have a good feel for how to find things. Actually my first attempt at finding anything is usually Google. That often works better that CC's own Search for finding things on any CC forum. Try a Google for boards.cruisecritic.com:Whoa :)

Problem for Mrs. K is that she's a director and they're not really hot about her being gone more than a couple of weeks at a time even though she gets five weeks of vacation a year. For our Med cruise in March we'll be gone the better part of three weeks and she had to get special approval for that. We really are kind of sad we might not get to try out the Prinsendam, we really love the smaller ships. We were booked on her for a Med cruise in 2010 but we had to cancel that cruise which eventually led us to book the Silversea's cruise. No doubt though that HAL has, at least for us, a really interesting and variety of cruise itineraries. Along with really liking the S and R class ships it was the choice of itineraries that kept us coming back to HAL every year.

I hear you - it's in two different cruises - we're doing the collectors' cruise. No question that this ship has nice itineraries. I went looking with an open mind and no one came close to this:)

We need to move right along here since I have to leave in less than an hour and a half. It's already New Years in Australia. :)

Happy New Year's to Australia:) any ideas to move this along?

Sapper started a great thread. LOL. did you see it?

Just over 4,100 posts to go = so little, and so far away - with New Year's Eve on the horizon - well, we'll see and at least we are doing our best! Have a great night Carol

We have a lot of weird town names here in NJ.

I work up near Parsippany. I'd love to work for cruise critic, but nothing they do garners the wage I get for what i do now. Ah, to be able to help people pick their vacations and such, I love that idea.

I live in Piscataway. Another weird one. My mom used to mess it up and tell people i lived in Parsippany. LOL. Then there's Hohokus, Mahwah, Watchung, Matawan, our list goes on and on. A lot of indian inspired town names.

What would everyones dream job be? Presuming you could garner any pay you wanted (say, enough to be comfortable but not rich). I used to say I'd love to be on Broadway (I sing) but these days with my body getting older I'm thinking I'd love to be a cruise line reviewer. Or, something like Rick Steve's does. I suppose it might get boring? But, I think I'd like to have the shot at finding out! lol

The posting rate is holding at a little over 600/hour. Currrent projection if the rate doesn't change: 22:05p Eastern

I'm just thinking that there will be a lot of people having fun (and they should) and going out, or getting ready to entertain so I suspect that may slow things down. It's been fun :):) Either way we'll be there by New Year's Eve or will break the number on New Year's Day

This morning when I first got on it was in the 8,000 area. By 11 a.m., it went down to 5,671. I think it is totally doable.
