DFD1 Posted January 2, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted January 2, 2012 You're right. I see her way out there, several miles from port. She should be in within the hour (6:15am).
powderhorn Posted January 2, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2012 Westerdam is just rolling in now. Maasdam is coming in right behind the Solstice.
queennightmare24 Posted January 2, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 2, 2012 We get on Maasdam today but the holland america rep said is coming in sick. They didn't say how many passengers have noro but the are delaying boarding till 130. Any one down at port today bring your hand sanitizer:)
DFD1 Posted January 2, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted January 2, 2012 Queen, I'm sorry that has happened to your embarkation. Hope they get her cleaned up for you and you have a great time. We sail on Eurodam next saturday and I've got my fingers crossed about Noro. Always a potential problem this time of year.
hal lover Posted January 2, 2012 #7 Share Posted January 2, 2012 I'm sure the crew of the Maasdam will do their best to sanitize her. Have a great cruise! We just came off of her 2 weeks ago and I miss her! Should be a great sailaway this afternoon!:)
Rare kazu Posted January 2, 2012 #8 Share Posted January 2, 2012 Should be fun to see. Hopefully the Maasdam clears up from it's Noro
mamaofami Posted January 2, 2012 #9 Share Posted January 2, 2012 Really sorry to hear that Maasdam has noro. We sail on the next sailing and I hope they do a real good job cleaning her up.Imagine having Noro and no working toilet like on ZUiderdam? innlady1 Posted January 2, 2012 #10 Share Posted January 2, 2012 Oh my, I hope they clean up the Maasdam for you...and for us next cruise. On our 2nd Noordam cruise out of NYC, we had an outbreak of Code Red. It didn't affect us that much except the fear that we'd contract it was huge. As I recall, they deep cleaned when we got to New York after we disembarked.
mamaofami Posted January 2, 2012 #11 Share Posted January 2, 2012 Sheila, I recall we were in code red on the Noordam. I don't mind being served our food, in fact I prefer not having everyone touch everything. Just don't want to get sick.
innlady1 Posted January 2, 2012 #12 Share Posted January 2, 2012 I can't remember...does HAL keep the pools open during Code Red? Well, there's nothing we can do...it is the time of the year...unfortunately. I'll have to remember to throw some Clorox wipes in the suitcase. aliaschief Posted January 2, 2012 #13 Share Posted January 2, 2012 It's like attending a Holland America convention at the Marriott. Even have some world cruise folks who are here early from overseas. What usually seems as the longest morning as we wait for van to Nieuw Amsterdam. queennightmare24 Posted January 2, 2012 #15 Share Posted January 2, 2012 We will still have a great time... I have no fear of that. I just wondering will they let the ship dock at half moon tomorrow... My cousin is supposed to get married tomorrow there.
aliaschief Posted January 2, 2012 #16 Share Posted January 2, 2012 Weather from cold front could put tendering into Half Moon Cay a little dicey.

mamaofami Posted January 2, 2012 #20 Share Posted January 2, 2012 Joanie, I don't know where you're getting those times, but Maasdam is in code red and getting a full cleanup with boarding postponed till 1:30. I don't see how she can leave at 4:30.
DFD1 Posted January 2, 2012 Author #21 Share Posted January 2, 2012 I wonder why Solstice is leaving at noon??? Is she going into drydock? (I know I should ask over on X, but I don't go over there.........)
Rare boards Posted January 2, 2012 #22 Share Posted January 2, 2012 The information is posted in the Port schedule of the Port Everglades. They sometimes do update the times, but usually not till closer to their departure time. At least that is what I noticed when watching departures. I don't see how she can leave at 4:30. Carol - she might be delayed 1/2 hour, but I am guessing that is the max. When the Prinsendam had to be deep cleaned we left on time. It was the embarkation that was delayed. But since, everyone was checked in, it took little time
mamaofami Posted January 2, 2012 #24 Share Posted January 2, 2012 Well, hope you're right because I have to be out of here at 5:15 for DH's birthday dinner. Another sail away I'll watch from my phone. After watching the post count from my phone the other day, not my daughter and her family will know just how nutty I am. This has become a terrible obsession.
