ktbr11crs Posted April 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2012 We absolutely love 2 week cruises for reasons listed below, but what is your favorite length? - We live in MN so, with all the expense and hassle of flying, we like to make the most of each trip. - Two weeks is great to be able to really relax, but not be gone from work for too long. - Most importantly, it's too sad getting off the ship if it is less than two weeks from when we got on!!! We do a lot of B2B's and really the alternating itineraries in the Caribbean & Mediterranean! Happy cruising everyone; whatever length cruise you take! jletsgo Posted April 7, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2012 I love a 12 night cruise, although mostly we cruise for 7......
dappledumpling Posted April 8, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2012 i LOVE 5 NIGHT CRUISES, I live close to the ports so airfare not a consideration and its a great way to break up vacation time (like 4 or 5 a year) longer cruises are nice but hate to burn alot of vaca time at one pop
red devil Posted April 8, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2012 10 or 12 nights are the best.
PAFC Posted April 8, 2012 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2012 Has to be 14 nights!
BND Posted April 8, 2012 #6 Share Posted April 8, 2012 When we got off our 12 night in Nov 2010, we decided that it wasn't too long. So, we're not sure yet what our favorite length is. So far, the longer the better. 5 nights is just tooooooooooooo short. We just did a 9 night and have a 11 and 9 night booked in the next year. davekathy Posted April 8, 2012 #7 Share Posted April 8, 2012 Aother two votes for 14 Nights. We also enjoy B2B Cruises.
jackretired Posted April 8, 2012 #8 Share Posted April 8, 2012 Nine would be great. Six at the small end. 14 at the big end.
bigeagle12 Posted April 8, 2012 #9 Share Posted April 8, 2012 Definitely nothing less than 7. We are thinking 10 to 14 will become our norm. :D
LBumb Posted April 8, 2012 #10 Share Posted April 8, 2012 have never done more than seven, would like to try a longer one day.
Virtopia Posted April 8, 2012 #11 Share Posted April 8, 2012 My Explorer cruise was suppose to be a 10 night, but was cut short by 1 night. I like the longer ones because now I feel that 7 nights is too short; if I had the option I'd always do 10, 12 or 14 night cruises but until that time, I'll stick with 6-8 night sailings. KarinaGW Posted April 8, 2012 #12 Share Posted April 8, 2012 10-14 nights. If I'm introducing someone to cruising, I usually pick a 5 night. When DH retires, as soon as they have something like when they repo'd Mariner, we'll take that all the way around. If I win a free cruise with my Coke points, *may* think about considering trying Oasis/Allure When we win the lottery, we will spend a year on shipboard. Deciding on actual strategy. Pretty sure it'll be like a month on each ship.
aggie1 Posted April 8, 2012 #13 Share Posted April 8, 2012 Our TA in nov. is 16 nights, but thinking of making it a B2B for 23 nights. the longer the better for us which is why we like the TA's.
dmdicato Posted April 8, 2012 #14 Share Posted April 8, 2012 Definitely nothing less than 7. We are thinking 10 to 14 will become our norm. :D I definitely agree on a cruise having to be nothing less than 7 nights! The days at sea are wonderful. PSCruiser Posted April 8, 2012 #15 Share Posted April 8, 2012 Can't be too long. Getting ready for 31 days, starting next week!
luvscruising2007 Posted April 8, 2012 #16 Share Posted April 8, 2012 Nothing less than 7, although that always seems too short. Our longest was 12 and I think we could have gone for another week. Basically, the longer, the better.:D
bugsy43 Posted April 8, 2012 #17 Share Posted April 8, 2012 We also aim for 10-12 days as the ideal. We find even a 7 day cruise to be too short, can't imagine anything less.
will773 Posted April 8, 2012 #18 Share Posted April 8, 2012 I would love to cruise for long periods! A transatlantic would be amazing, but I'm in school! I did a 5 nighter last year and it actually didn't feel that short. I would love to do a longer cruise though! Gilgo Surfer Posted April 8, 2012 #19 Share Posted April 8, 2012 I like nine to eleven nights. My eleven night cruise on the Jewel(Caribbean and Panama) was the perfect mix of sea days and port days for me.
Desertbelle Posted April 8, 2012 #20 Share Posted April 8, 2012 Minimum of 10 days, prefer something in the 12-14 days range. This year we will do our first really long cruise, a B2B cruise (our previously longest cruise was 14 days), for a total of 29 days at sea, we are very excited. Rare LHT28 Posted April 8, 2012 #21 Share Posted April 8, 2012 Around 30 days works for us No point in flying overseas for less time ;)
Azure Moon Posted April 8, 2012 #22 Share Posted April 8, 2012 We've done one 5 day, one 8 day, and seven 7 day cruises. Loved 8 days, but I know when we're finally able to do a longer cruise, that will become my favorite length :D.
Rare kazu Posted April 8, 2012 #23 Share Posted April 8, 2012 10 days is our minimum. If we are going to Europe at least 20 days with pre and post cruise days:D Next year we are doing a 31 day - time flew by on a 20 day so i am sure it will on a 31 as well:D
tip Posted April 8, 2012 #24 Share Posted April 8, 2012 We also aim for 10-12 days as the ideal. We find even a 7 day cruise to be too short, can't imagine anything less. We would agree with the above. Coming from the cold, ice, and snow of New Hampsha wintas, we also try to sandwich our cruise with at least two days each of pre and post cruise hotel stays in Florida!:D
Padraic Posted April 8, 2012 #25 Share Posted April 8, 2012 We have done everthing from one week to 67 days (we're both retired). We especially like month long cruises. We will sometimes split two such as an ocean cruise for three weeks and then a week long river cruise.
