The current Captains Club offer (ends May 18th) is only for the new 2013/2014 sailings that were recently announced. Per the fine print, it applies to sailings 6 nights and longer, so it's not applicable for the 4/5 night and shorter sailings.

We booked Reflection TA in the fall of 2013 and got $250 for early booking before 18 May. I called the Captain's Club and they said you could combine any other Celebrity OBC except the Shareholder OBC. I called back and another Captain's Club agent said we could, and read me the memo that listed Shareholder as a combinable OBC.

Normally, that's true - but not with the current Captains Club offer that I mentioned above. When this offer is over, after the 18th of May, I suspect you may not be able to combine 2 offers again.

I think you can use your shareholder benefit for this promo. We were able to. Call the Captain's Club to comfirm.

In the UK Celebrity brochure T&C it says that shareholder OBC is not combineable with any other OBC, as a result I won't be bothering to buy any RCI shares.

However Carnival shareholder OBC can be combined with any other OBC offer on all their cruise lines.

Yes. Sorry for the confusion.

 

The promotions come from various departments. The staff in customer service have very little ability to find the correct promotional limitations.

 

The promotions are way to complicated and unclear.

For example

 

"Other offers and promotions are NOT combinable with this offer. Such offers include (but are not limited to) Celebrity Values, shareholder benefits, loyalty offers, Onboard credit offers, etc.

NOT applicable with Senior, Residents, Military, Air specials, category specials, GRPX and other restricted fares."

 

If you are going to limit the use of the promotion then it is certainly not acceptable to use the term "etc" when describing limitations. Also, "other restricted fares" need to be specifically defined.

The way it was explained to me when I booked on board last month was that what is stackable is the normal advance booking credit with the extra credit they are offering until 18 May. I was told I could not add the shareholders credit to this.

Yes, TA credits are separate so you can apply and should be awarded the Shareholder credit for your cruise. The only confusion occurs when the OBC or discount is given by Celebrity, which has limitations on combining Celebrity benefits.

 

We have received our shareholder benefits in addition to our TA OBC credits on our two Celebrity cruises.

I would say anything labeled "Captain's Club...." wouldn't be combinable.

We usually book an "open" passage while on board and have never been able to use our shareholder discount. I am getting ready to sell it. What the heck, I can go on another cruise with the proceeds!
