Per the fine print, it applies to sailings 6 nights and longer, so it's not applicable for the 4/5 night and shorter sailings. Here's a link to the promotion : http://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Celebrity/Multi_Dest/Special_Offers/12028094_CEL_CaptainClub_Offer_Flyer.pdf I hope this helps ! I am having extreme difficulty determining what coupons are applicable and what the conditions are. Took me over 6 weeks to get a copy of a coupon that I was seeing if it applies. Along the way I have been given wrong information by various members of the executive specialists after writing to Adam Goldstein on several instances. dabear Posted May 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2012 I was rejected when I applied for the shareholder obc and already received an early booking capt club credit. I don't recall when we booked in May 2011 for Alaska this year that we would not be permitted to get any other credit.
DAllenTCY Posted May 10, 2012 #5 Share Posted May 10, 2012 Almost always, you cannot combine two discount offers on one booking. David
Wine-O Posted May 10, 2012 #6 Share Posted May 10, 2012 We booked Reflection TA in the fall of 2013 and got $250 for early booking before 18 May. I called the Captain's Club and they said you could combine any other Celebrity OBC except the Shareholder OBC. I called back and another Captain's Club agent said we could, and read me the memo that listed Shareholder as a combinable OBC. Sometimes with Celebrity it's who you talk to. :D

Andy Posted May 10, 2012 #8 Share Posted May 10, 2012 Almost always, you cannot combine two discount offers on one booking.David Hi David, Normally, that's true - but not with the current Captains Club offer that I mentioned above. When this offer is over, after the 18th of May, I suspect you may not be able to combine 2 offers again.

Hi Dabear, If you booked in May 2011, the shareholder benefit would not be combinable with a 2nd offer. Have a great Cruise !
Desertbelle Posted May 10, 2012 #10 Share Posted May 10, 2012 Would someone please clarify this for me again, I think I am not understanding it well. We booked a cruise a week ago for an Australian cruise in October of 2013 and received $300 in shipboard credit due to the Celebrity New Deployment Promo going on until May 18th. Is this a Captains Clubs promotion? It doesn't seem to be to me. So if it's not a Captain's Club promo, does that mean that we CAN use our Shareholders benefit? Thanks for the clarification. It seems near impossible to use our Shareholder Benefits these days. Makes me want to sell our shares.

As Wine-O suggested, it's best to call Captains Club to confirm. Please let us know what happens. Good Luck !

terrierjohn Posted May 10, 2012 #15 Share Posted May 10, 2012 In the UK Celebrity brochure T&C it says that shareholder OBC is not combineable with any other OBC, as a result I won't be bothering to buy any RCI shares. However Carnival shareholder OBC can be combined with any other OBC offer on all their cruise lines.
stanjj111 Posted May 10, 2012 #16 Share Posted May 10, 2012 I am not understanding "coupons" Do you mean the Captain's Club Saving Certificates? Yes. Sorry for the confusion. The promotions come from various departments. The staff in customer service have very little ability to find the correct promotional limitations. The promotions are way to complicated and unclear. For example "Other offers and promotions are NOT combinable with this offer. Such offers include (but are not limited to) Celebrity Values, shareholder benefits, loyalty offers, Onboard credit offers, etc. NOT applicable with Senior, Residents, Military, Air specials, category specials, GRPX and other restricted fares." If you are going to limit the use of the promotion then it is certainly not acceptable to use the term "etc" when describing limitations. Also, "other restricted fares" need to be specifically defined.
mbsilk Posted May 10, 2012 #17 Share Posted May 10, 2012 The way it was explained to me when I booked on board last month was that what is stackable is the normal advance booking credit with the extra credit they are offering until 18 May. I was told I could not add the shareholders credit to this.
MTemple212 Posted May 10, 2012 #18 Share Posted May 10, 2012 Ok, I have a different scenario. I booked a cruise for Feb of next year for a RT to Hawaii from San Diego on Century. When I purchased my cruise thru an online TA, they have a points system based on how much you paid for your cruise. Once you book, you can go into their "store" and purchased OBC's with your points. So I purchased $150 worth of OBC's with those points I earned. So am I allowed to apply the Shareholder credit? It would be $250 for this cruise! stipmom Posted May 10, 2012 Author #20 Share Posted May 10, 2012 I sent an e mail out to the head office and a Captain's Club rep called me back. Gonzo70 Posted May 10, 2012 #21 Share Posted May 10, 2012 Any idea on how to successfully have the Shareholder OBC applied to these cruises? I booked the Eclipse for May of 2013 during the Early Booking Captain's Club OBC offer and recently submitted my request for Shareholder OBC and was denied. I e-mail them back saying it was my understanding that this could be combined and they again sent an e-mail back denying the OBC (without any explanation). Who should I follow up with? Thanks

Yes, TA credits are separate so you can apply and should be awarded the Shareholder credit for your cruise. The only confusion occurs when the OBC or discount is given by Celebrity, which has limitations on combining Celebrity benefits. We have received our shareholder benefits in addition to our TA OBC credits on our two Celebrity cruises.

Sarajevosue Posted May 11, 2012 #25 Share Posted May 11, 2012 We usually book an "open" passage while on board and have never been able to use our shareholder discount. I am getting ready to sell it. What the heck, I can go on another cruise with the proceeds!
