"LIVE" from Enchantment of the Seas- Bermuda / May 11, 2012

Recommended Posts

Smitty, check Southwest from Manchester NH down to Baltimore. My sister lives outside Boston and I can often find one way flights for $79, especially by booking early. Flight time is less than 90 minutes and depending on how many people are in your party, it's often cheaper than driving. And definitely easier than battling the Mass Pike, New York traffic, Jersey Turnpike, and I-95!!!

Right now you can find AirTran R/T between Boston and Baltimore for $123.

I always enjoy and follow your live posts. I know that you have addressed this in one of your previous threads, but I cannot locate your response. Question: how do you post your photos so that they come out in the size that they do?

Hello everyone. . .Welcome to DAY 3 of “LIVE” from Enchantment of the Seas.

We have arrived in Kings Wharf, Bermuda. The sun is shining and it is a comfortable 74F. There are a few clouds, but little chance of rain for today through Wednesday.

I was having connection problems again this morning, but now things seem to have cleared up. .

We will be docked here for the next 2 nights(at the Kings Wharf Terminal), and we are scheduled to leave on Wednesday at 12 Noon. With us in port today at the Heritage Pier is the Norwegian Dawn. She arrived earlier today and will stay until 5 on Wednesday.

My plans for the rest of the day are a little unsure. I will be getting off of the ship soon, but will be back at about 5:30. My Mom is onboard and my brother and I are taking her to Chops for a Mother’s Day Dinner. . .

After Dinner, a few of us may meet over in the dockyard, for a little conversation, and maybe a libation or two. I have a lot of pics form our arrival, but I will post just a few for today. Many more pics will be on my Cruise Page, once I return.

There will be more pics tonight, and many more tomorrow, as I have a lot of Bermuda to catch up to. It has been almost 2 years since I have been here (Sep 2010) So here are a few pics from our arrival, and thanks for tuning in. . .

Radio - I know you are scheduled for 3pm today to arrive - did you happen to note what time the ship cleared and people were allowed to exit via the gangway?

We arrived at 2:45 PM, and the Ship was cleared at 3:15PM

I can't wait. The water is so unbelievably beautiful in Bermuda. How nice your brother and Mama Radio are with you. I met your brother in Sep 2010. What a lovely Mother's Day trip for all of you.

The photo of the Centrum is really impressive. I love the fact that there are wall-length windows throughout the space. The only other RCI ship I have been on is the Adventure of the Seas which seemed very inward focused and lacked the great sea views (if I remember correctly!). My husband and I also like cruising NCL, but unforunately, they seem to offer ships that are focused on what is INSIDE instead of the water. This Centrum reminds me of the oceanviews and glass elevators on the Celebrity Millennium class ships - my favorites! Excited to sail on this older ship because it's more connected to the water.

thanks, AJ

AJ, if you like water views you would LOVE the Radiance Class ships!! The Brilliance is my favorite!!!! Radiance Class is very open!!!

I loved both my Grandeur and Radiance sailings, incredibly beautiful ships with lots of glass- Radiance has three acres and views everywhere. And Radio's review has me thinking back to my Grandeur cruise. ;) LOVE your photos, Radio, thank you for taking us along!

My Mom is onboard and my brother and I are taking her to Chops for a Mother’s Day Dinner. . .

That blue blue water is amazing, Radio... Have a wonderful Mother's Day Chops dinner (mmm, filet) with your Mom and brother!

Once again, I am amazed at the live threads by Radio; they give me so much insight to the ship and the sights. This is better than going on Royals website and trying to find out about a ships layout or destinations. Thank you for taking the time and energy to put your live report together. Have a wonderful time with your mom and brother at Chops.

Enjoy your time in Bermuda. I have not been there in over 38 years and I am sure it has changed dramatically. Last time I was there, I was 10 years old and we sailed on the Holland America Line; SS Statendam. We moored on Front Street in Hamilton and has 3 awesome days in Bermuda.

I hope to get back sometime soon, and will most likely sail the Enchantment out of Baltimore, looks like a wonderful cruise. I can't wait to be on board her next February for a trial run prior to a cruise to Bermuda.

AHHH, Beautiful Bermuda!!

We just got back from Bermuda this past Thursday on the Explorer.

It was our first time to Bermuda and I'm sure it won't be the last.

This island is so gorgeous. ;):)

Radio, hope you all have better swimming weather than us.

Water temp was very cold to swim. Don't miss the local show at the square

in St. George at noon.

We were docked with Norwegian Dawn and Veerdam also last week in Bermuda.

Thanks for the beautiful pictures.

Radio I just wanted to say thank you for all the time you invest posting your gorgeous photos and comments. The ship looks very beautiful. Some recent reviews talk about how worn the ship is and needs to dry dock badly. Really?! LOL It never ceases to amaze me how people like to complain. All the areas of the ship you have photographed show it to be excellently maintained.

Thanks again!!

Greetings from the Royal Naval dockyard!!!

Finally I am getting a chance to post....we have had amazing weather and we're having a delightful cruise!!!

I will post a review later when I get home...I certainly do not want to take away from the main attraction of a Radio LIVE report...but I wanted to stop by and say that we are all having lots of fun......sometimes too much fun!! (there really is no such thing as too much fun!!)

We've met many CCers too...we had our own little m & m.....and a slot pull (which was minimally successful....) Haven't spent much time in the non-meg friendly casino....frankly we've been having too much fun laughing.....often....(what happens on the ship STAYS on the ship!!)

The food has been good..our meal in Chops the other night was the best on the ship so far..and I am sure that it will be the best of the cruise!! It was a nice get together with friends!!!

Radio....GORGEOUS photos......heck...I am actually ON the cruise and I can't keep up! I AM *STEALING* the one of the pilot boat ....that's super cool!!

I will say that the ship, IMO is in VERY good shape considering her age....honestly I haven't seen anything that's majorly wrong with EN.......

We hopefully will have a full day of fun tomorrow....looks like a trip to the maritime museum, and then I am going into Hamilton for a short time....will try and post tomorrow...likely from a purveyor of rum swizzles..

as a side note to carol 138east...i have (sort of) an answer to your question..in short, it's too early, but probably possible...

Off to have fun......and to see what other photos Radio posts tonight!!
