tigger-ttfn Posted October 9, 2012 #76 Share Posted October 9, 2012 Today's been quite the day. I spent a whole bunch of time in the casino and won a fair bit. The casino host is taking quite a liking to me. :) We had dinner at Chops Grille tonight and, as expected, it was fantastic. Everyone had a great time and some people even took some of their desserts back to their cabin to finish later. Tomorrow is an "at sea" day. We have our Meet & Mingle tomorrow. I'm looking forward to meeting people from the Roll Call thread. After that, it's a leisurely day doing miscellaneous stuff including FlowRider lessons (for my friends, not me), Johnny Rockets, a slot tournament, and other entertaining activities onboard! I'm sorry I haven't been posting pictures, but for some reason, this time I've just not had the photo bug encouraging me to take my camera around with me. I hope that my text is sufficient to keep you interested in all things Freedom of the Seas, Voyage #332. Was looking forward to pictures on the Freedom. Oh well
Ella2 Posted October 9, 2012 #77 Share Posted October 9, 2012 Lucky you! We just got off a FABULOUS cruise on Freedom on the day you embarked. LOVE that ship and crew, they totally are top notch. If you happen to see Kory the Piano Man in the Schooner Bar (lots of fun) please tell him hi from Cathy and Michelle from the last sailing. And then stick around and enjoy his show. :) Have a fabulous time!

Daghis Posted October 10, 2012 Author #80 Share Posted October 10, 2012 So do they have them and where? Chris There are seven Coke Freestyle machines onboard. Two are outside Sorrento's, four (two on each side) are by Jade in the Windjammer, and one is in Challenger's Arcade. I have pictures of them that I'll upload later. My attempt to upload a photo right now isn't going very well, so I'll have to wait until I'm back on wifi.
Daghis Posted October 10, 2012 Author #81 Share Posted October 10, 2012 Hello from St. Thomas! I'm happy to report that I have some pictures to upload later on after I get back! Woohoo! We had a great night last night. Many of my friends tried out the FlowRider for a private lesson and really enjoyed it. Afterward, we went to Johnny Rockets and got stuffed on burgers, fries, onion rings, chili, and dessert! Yum! I also had a great time in the casino yesterday. I was playing with a friend and we both hit handpays at the same time! It was very exciting! Today's plan is to walk around St. Thomas just exploring a bit. I've been here a few times and don't have much of an agenda for this time here. More later, with pictures!

Daghis Posted October 10, 2012 Author #83 Share Posted October 10, 2012 Yes, we docked at Havensight, right next to the Disney Fantasy. It was great to be up on deck 12 to watch us come into port since we got here around 10:30.
Daghis Posted October 10, 2012 Author #84 Share Posted October 10, 2012 I have a picture I took up here at the top of the Skyride. I don't know whether this will come through well.

Daghis, Awesome picture! It gives a really good idea of the scale of Freedom and the Disney ship docked alongside her. Do you know if that is Disney Dream/Fantasy or Magic/Wonder? Pomperaugrr Posted October 10, 2012 #86 Share Posted October 10, 2012 Marc, I am enjoying your review as always! Thanks for taking the time to make these posts. Would you let us know, later on, what time the evening main theater shows are scheduled for. We have to make MTD reservations and want to be able to make the later shows. We're doing the same itinerary in January. Thanks and enjoy the rest of your cruise! Eric

And then stick around and enjoy his show. :) Our first impression of Kory was that we did not really enjoy or like him but we kept going back to watch is show and he really grew on us. Would like to see him again! Tim

Daghis Posted October 11, 2012 Author #93 Share Posted October 11, 2012 Today is St. Maarten! Welcome here! This is the busiest day for me as I actually have some plans, weather permitting. We're going to head over to Maho Beach to watch a couple big planes come in. I was able to get a list of the upcoming arrivals and it looks as though there are a couple coming in around 11 AM, so we'll try to head there first. Afterward, we'll head to Philipsburg to walk around the shops for a bit. I have a request from home to pick up some flavored rums, so I'll keep an eye out for them. I'll also be sure to bring my umbrella with me as there are forecasts for storms today. :(
J&K08 Posted October 11, 2012 #94 Share Posted October 11, 2012 What time did the ship dock at port? I will be on the FOS Nov 4th and in St. Maarten on Nov. 8th. Thanks!

kimala Posted October 11, 2012 #96 Share Posted October 11, 2012 Do you know if one gets the soda program do you have to use only the machine or can you still get soda refills at the bars?
Rare BecciBoo Posted October 11, 2012 #97 Share Posted October 11, 2012 Grab a taxi right at the port I think it will be around $30 for a taxi full as I recall, plenty of taxis back too. But if you go before 11:00 you won't see the really big jets come in so plan accordingly. You can catch the water taxi into Philipsburg and shop and catch a taxi to Maho there as well.:D
