SRV FAN Posted March 13, 2015 #2476 Share Posted March 13, 2015 Asking again.... Anyone seeing any construction on Terminal 2 yet? I though I read it was supposed to be complete by April 2015.... Pretty sure it HAS to be done by November when the Liberty goes in...
Daisy May Posted March 13, 2015 #2477 Share Posted March 13, 2015 We got off Navigator 8 March. Just past the construction fence are four big mounds of earth, 4 deep holes with water and I think some rebar. I took some pictures so will see if I can post them later. They better get a move on. But what do I know about construction? Sherry

But what do I know about construction? Sherry Thanks! Yeah... That's what I was thinking.... I guess the main thing would be to get the channel dredged, so the Liberty can get in.... We sail out in Sept.... Was so hoping to see the new terminal then...
klingoncruiser Posted March 21, 2015 #2479 Share Posted March 21, 2015 Strange ending to a cruise. We just got off of the Norwegian Jewel out of Houston today. However due to the fog, we hustled back from Roatan and got back ... at 7PM on Friday. Yup, we got in over 13 hours early. We spent the evening on the ship watching the parking lot and our cars overnight at the dock. That was one weird ending to a VERY nice cruise. I don't blame the captain, he was not sure the port would stay open and might get stuck out to sea. Good move, but did end many on board activities on the ship early as we got into Texas water about 2PM Friday and had to shut down the Casino, and much of the booze on board. Good move, but did end many on board activities on the ship early as we got into Texas water about 2PM Friday and had to shut down the Casino, and much of the booze on board. The same thing happened on my Princess cruise back in Nov 2013. The weather was great until around noon on Friday, when it suddenly got very cold and rainy, which felt even worse up on deck because we were going so fast so we could beat the fog. We were a bit later than you, arriving back around midnight, but yes, things on the ship shut down once we entered Texas waters and nobody could buy the booze they wanted. It's better to do it they way they did though. The alternative is what just happened with the Carnival Triumph. My co-workers wife sailed on Thursday, and the ship was delayed getting back until almost noon that day, so she couldn't board until around 4 or 5 p.m. I'm not sure what time the ship ended up being able to depart. Many on board that previous cruise probably missed their flights home.

klingoncruiser Posted April 5, 2015 #2485 Share Posted April 5, 2015 Is there an actual live cam now? The emerald cam seems to be a streaming cam this morning.

Sat1 Posted April 5, 2015 #2487 Share Posted April 5, 2015 The Galvestoncam, com, on the cruise cam, the passenger's loading gangway is broken, and might be for a week. Cruisers load on deck 0 and only 4 elevators to reach their deck.
klingoncruiser Posted April 5, 2015 #2488 Share Posted April 5, 2015 This is the only one I could find. http://www.galveston.com/cruisevideocam/ Here is the one I was using. http://www.galveston.com/emeraldvideocam/ It shows both ships. I did like the one showing them loading as well but rather it was not the Carnivore ship.
klingoncruiser Posted April 12, 2015 #2489 Share Posted April 12, 2015 Good morning. Good to see both ships this morning. This link is live streamed. Hard to tell but every now and then a bird flies by or something else moves to show it is streaming. Should be fun as the ship comes in or leaves. http://www.galveston.com/emeraldvideocam/

golfpccc Posted May 23, 2015 #2495 Share Posted May 23, 2015 Any further news ? Can't find much in local newspapers etc. Still nothing happening. Local paper reported that when they started digging for foundation found soil problems so the project is back with the engineers being redesigned!!! Sounds like a stall tactic to me!! TEXASMUNK Posted May 28, 2015 #2499 Share Posted May 28, 2015 Holiday Inn priority points. Could always get two nights on the island, now that the program has changed, they block free nights... Hate that, takes away from my martini money! and most are now really pushing the two night minimum stay.
