We got off Navigator 8 March. Just past the construction fence are four big mounds of earth, 4 deep holes with water and I think some rebar. I took some pictures so will see if I can post them later. They better get a move on. But what do I know about construction?

Thanks! Yeah... That's what I was thinking.... I guess the main thing would be to get the channel dredged, so the Liberty can get in.... We sail out in Sept.... Was so hoping to see the new terminal then...

Strange ending to a cruise. We just got off of the Norwegian Jewel out of Houston today. However due to the fog, we hustled back from Roatan and got back ... at 7PM on Friday. Yup, we got in over 13 hours early. We spent the evening on the ship watching the parking lot and our cars overnight at the dock. That was one weird ending to a VERY nice cruise. I don't blame the captain, he was not sure the port would stay open and might get stuck out to sea. Good move, but did end many on board activities on the ship early as we got into Texas water about 2PM Friday and had to shut down the Casino, and much of the booze on board.

The same thing happened on my Princess cruise back in Nov 2013. The weather was great until around noon on Friday, when it suddenly got very cold and rainy, which felt even worse up on deck because we were going so fast so we could beat the fog. We were a bit later than you, arriving back around midnight, but yes, things on the ship shut down once we entered Texas waters and nobody could buy the booze they wanted.

It's better to do it they way they did though. The alternative is what just happened with the Carnival Triumph. My co-workers wife sailed on Thursday, and the ship was delayed getting back until almost noon that day, so she couldn't board until around 4 or 5 p.m. I'm not sure what time the ship ended up being able to depart. Many on board that previous cruise probably missed their flights home.

Anyone in the Galveston area have info on Mainland Medical Center at Texas City? I fell the night before my January cruise, and I would love to talk to someone here with any info or knows anyone employed by this facility.

Lol. Thanks. I have talked to about three people there. It's like dealing with the three stooges. I guess I should have clarified more. Someone there who can really help.

The Galvestoncam, com, on the cruise cam, the passenger's loading gangway is broken, and might be for a week. Cruisers load on deck 0 and only 4 elevators to reach their deck.

Any further news ? Can't find much in local newspapers etc.

Still nothing happening. Local paper reported that when they started digging for foundation found soil problems so the project is back with the engineers being redesigned!!! Sounds like a stall tactic to me!!

Holiday Inn priority points. Could always get two nights on the island, now that the program has changed, they block free nights...

Hate that, takes away from my martini money!

and most are now really pushing the two night minimum stay.

Just use them in Texas City or nearby. That's what we do.
