Thanks for your feedback, we go on 5/16

The WiFi, what was the cost of unlimited for 2 devices and where was WiFi available?

I am just now scanning the Compii...and I see

7 Days 209.95 for 2 devices at a time.

7 Days 179.95 One device at a time

then there is a 5, 4, 3 ,2 and 24 hour for 1 device and 2 devices, but the shorter plans are consecutive days starting later in the cruise. and hourly plan, which can be used as individual minutes adding up to the hour (s) throughout the cruise. I'll post the sheet in my review!

With our C&A discount and an OBC it was pretty much a wash, and I wanted to try live blogging, which worked really well for me!

I really don't want this to come across as being picky but the Island Grill is the stern of the ship. I just don't want people who are not real familiar with the layout of the ship, or those who are directionally challenged, to think there is another buffet areas on the ship that does not actually exist.

Oy, you are right, thank you for pointing that out (hate that there is no edit function!)...I do mean the stern, don't know what I was thinking!! I am in fact directionally challenged on this class of ship myself..I was always running into the "dead end" Studio B:rolleyes: Eventually, I just always used the Royal Promenade to avoid the casino (smokey) and the dead end!

Currently on board Adventure and one thing that really surprised me is that the 1 day internet package is now $49.95. It was $29.95 on Freedom in October. DH and I each have 1 day free with our diamond coupons and it's listed as 1 free 24 hour period or $29.95 off the price of a longer package on the sheet that tells us what coupons we have for the week. However, this morning I signed on and it gave me a $29.95 coupon off the $49.95 leaving a $20 balance. I called down to guest services and they said they will credit us the $20 which is fine but I wonder how many get charged that additional amount and perhaps don't notice.

Sort of seems like the new protocol for Royal Caribbean is to really overcharge to encourage guests to purchase one of the longer packages which are a 'better deal.' I can't imagine paying 50 bucks to use the internet for a day and the huge rise in drink prices solely to encourage people to buy drink packages is probably brilliant from a business standpoint but somewhat annoying for a long time patron. We've sailed on three different cruise lines quite a few times and have NEVER had a bad cruise or even reason to complain as we feel very privileged just to be able to be here but there are some things going on with RCCL that are starting to make me a bit twitchy. JMHO

Thanks for the heads up. Another reason to leave the electronics at home. Hopefully RC is not punishing the crew with huge wifi increases.

Thanks. No Starbucks on the Adventure? I assume no freestyle coke machines either...

No Freestyle machines on Adventure.

Cafe Promenade may use Starbuck's brand coffee beans in their premium coffee items.

Sure! I will post it here when we start; with over 3k photos to go through and a very very busy weekend, it won't be till the end of next week at the earliest!

Internet I agree with you, Goodml, it has changed drastically. First, the service is significantly better! I think we are all paying for those upgrades. Secondly, it is definitely geared, price wise, for folks who need or want to connect regularly, rather than what you want to do (as I used to do!) Which is just check in for a few minutes a day to ensure everything at home is ok (using my "free" hour)! I found the service expensive, generally (as much as I pay per month for our package at home, which includes phone, Internet and cable!) But I was glad to have it, our dd was awaiting some important post high school plan news, and our daughter felt much better checking daily, and I was able to post without feeling like a clock was running! Logging in and out was far easier and clear!

Like you, I do hope that crew is NOT charge for this service, or maybe given a limit of gig downloaded per device! (To avoid big downloads, but really, do they even have time to watch a movie?) The one thing I thought of was that the service is so much better that they might have an easier time getting service in the limited free time they have and might even be able to skype or Face Time their little ones- I could not have have seen that as possible with the old service.

Coffee- I took a photo of the coffee shop prices at the Promenade Cafe- it was not advertised as Starbucks, they way it is on other ships. Once the photo is off the camera, I'll post it!

I just noticed I was upgraded to a junior suite with an aft balcony (6694) from a D3 balcony. I thought that would be great but I've seen some reviews about it having obstructed views. The pictures I've seen at voyager-class.com/pictures/cabins/aft_6-JS/gallery.html don't impress me either. Any thoughts on this? Not even sure if they would switch us since we sail in 3 days! Thanks in advance!

I would not be disappointed with that upgrade. The JS will be much more comfortable. I've read many times where people say that they don't even notice the obstructions after a while.

You'll have that large blue flooring with the logo in front of you for about 20-50 feet, (like a large blue deck you can't access because you'll have your usual balcony rail.) but the view out that back is terrific, and I liked the privacy of the "cove" we leaned over and peeked down there and certianly as an upgrade, we would be happy with it!

Congrats on your upgrade!

You can fit four suitcases under the beds. I don't have a picture but it is a pretty standard room. There are plenty of websites where you can find pictures of a Voyager class ship ocean view cabin.

Clarea, you are a wealth of info for the AOS :)

In your opinion which area would be best for the sailaway? This is our first Royal Caribbean cruise and in past sailings on another line, we've enjoyed a lido deck party. Does the same hold true for Royal or is there a another alternative. Thank you!

Weather permitting, they usually have a sail away party on the pool deck. The helicopter pad is a nice area outside, away from the pool sounds, to enjoy a quieter sailaway. Inside, I would go up to Viking Crown, deck 14, portside aft elevators.

Adventure of the Seas Jan/Feb. 2017 cruises are now posted. Just booked my cruise. I wonder if the flowrider will be on her after the dry dock in the fall of 2016.

I would expect the Flowrider, because it's been installed on Voyager, Explorer, and Navigator so far.

Was on the Adventure last week and was told that flow rider was going to be added during dry dock. Also, another specialty restaurant, either Chops or their Mexican variety will be added. They currently have Giovanni's. Which was superb!

It will be interesting to see what they do. On Explorer and Voyager (identical sister ships), they moved Giovanni's to deck 4, where the nightclub used to be, and put Chops in next to Windjammer. Izumi went into the former card and game rooms in Viking Crown.

I didn't know that. Unfortunately, more and more of the Viking Crown is being lost to general use by passengers. Navigator and Indy both have (used to have) pianos up there that I would enjoy playing.

It us hard to picture what a restaurant looks like in that previous dungeon area on deck 4.
