All Things Adventure of the Seas

I didn't know that. Unfortunately, more and more of the Viking Crown is being lost to general use by passengers. Navigator and Indy both have (used to have) pianos up there that I would enjoy playing.

It us hard to picture what a restaurant looks like in that previous dungeon area on deck 4.

We saw that on Navigator with the Sabor restaurant. There was no hint of the former nightclub. The old door to the nightclub near the casino entrance was gone. The new door was right off the centrum, not far from the piano in Schooner. Just looked like a restaurant, unfortunately with no outside views.

I've done a search on this thread but I can't find what I'm looking for. Are there hair dryers in the owners suites, or do we have to bring or own on?

We stayed in a Junior Suite and there was a hair dryer in our cabin, so I assume there would be one in the owners suites as well. They're not the best dryers and you have to hold a button down the entire time, but it's certainly one less thing to pack!

And in Feb on the Adventure our hairdryer was in top drawer and you took it out to plug in at the top of the desk. It was not wired in as had been in the past. that was terrific for me!!!! Yes I had to hold the little button but sure had a little more room to work with!!!

Beat me too it. Believe this applies to most if not all cruise lines. This item is provided and if you try to bring your own it will be confiscated and returned to you when you disembark.

There are many things like this including like a travel iron. Basically anything that could cause a fire.

I seriously can't bring my own hair dryer? What about a flat iron (for hair)

Here's their official policy on what not to bring, rather than taking our word for it...

My wife always travels with her hair dryer. The ship hair dryers are just not powerful enough for her. I wouldn't know since I don't use one.

She has never once had it confiscated on any of our 12 cruises. I think it just the irons and such that they go after. I hope this isn't something that they are going to start confiscating because that would ruin my whole week!:D

Maybe it depends on the size/wattage of them. I've seen them confiscate them before.

I would bet that it has nothing to do with size or wattage and much more to do with the randomness that seems to occur with seizures that we read about here.

Can anyone tell me the date for Adventures dry dock in 2016?

Thanks

Hi folks. Here's another question attached to the one above. I did notice that the sailing I've booked for my girlfriend and me (Oct 8, '16) is the last one for a while and figured that's probably when they'll do the revitalization.

When we sailed Adventure in '14 the mattresses were done for. Awful. So, here's the question. Do you folks think the mattresses will be replaced during the revitalization? The reason I'm asking is that there's a similar sailing to mine in March '17 (longer with two more island stops). If I were to learn that I'd be more comfortable sleeping, and also that there might be a Chops added, it may be worth switching my booking, even at almost 200% of the fare of my current booking.

Any guesses, or perhaps feedback from someone who sailed one of the sisters after drydock?

Thanks!!

I brought my at iron on our cruise in 2013 and had no problem bringing it on. But I can tell you from the perspective of a VERY curly haired gal, it was a complete waste of suitcase space. After day 1 of spending my usual 45 minutes it takes to straighten my hair, I walked outside and it curled right back up. After that I realized beachy ocean curly hair is a thing for a reason, haha! Maybe if your hair is pretty straight already it will work, but every island I've visited since that trip has been visited with my curls and no flatiron.
