BugsyCruiser Posted April 14, 2013 Author #701 Share Posted April 14, 2013 Thanks for all the nice comments friends. I think I will upload some photos of my post hotel room and view here at the Hyatt Pier 66 and Silhouette's sailaway and then wrap this review up tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest. Thanks for tuning in everyone! :) The tower junior suite at Hyatt Pier 66 Not a bad view from the balcony IMHO
BugsyCruiser Posted April 14, 2013 Author #702 Share Posted April 14, 2013 Welcome back Lois! I could see from the pictures of you that Chris shared that you were having fun. Seems like you enjoyed much better weather than poor Gambee did. Can't wait to hear more ...at least tell me what drinks you would recommend :) I can't speak for Lois but Sandi I would definitely recommend the dragonfly and tanned russian from the Molecular Bar and the Chocolate Martini from the Martini Bar :D

librarylady19 Posted April 14, 2013 #708 Share Posted April 14, 2013 Great photos...how fun for those onboard, and bittersweet for those of us who won't see the ship until next year. Definitely will make one of these my screensaver.
Newbie Cruiser 2010 Posted April 14, 2013 #709 Share Posted April 14, 2013 Here you go Joanne. Hope this helps: Celebrity Cruises Where You Can Smoke: Cigarette smoking is only permitted in designated indoor and outdoor areas. Examples include the port side of the pool deck and sundecks on each ship; the port side of the Sunset Bar on Celebrity Century and on Celebrity's Millennium class of ships; and the port side, aft, outside of Winter Garden on Celebrity Galaxy and Celebrity Mercury. Where You Can't: Smoking is prohibited in cabins and on balconies. Also, smoking is not permitted in any dining venue, casino, theater, hallway, elevator or corridor. On Celebrity's new Solstice, the Lawn Club and the Sunset Bar at the Lawn Club will not allow smoking. Cigar and Pipe Smoking: Cigar and pipe smoking is allowed only in specially designated sections of the open decks. It has been a few days since I have been able to catch up on your live review. Just saw this now. Thank you so much. No smoking in the cabins or on the balconies. That is perfect for me......will definitely be looking at this cruise line now. Smoking areas on the ship are fine as I just stay away from those areas. It was the cabins and balconies that concerned me. Thanks again for your food-a-licious review. charlie52 Posted April 15, 2013 #710 Share Posted April 15, 2013 Absolutely a fabulous live review. I have loved following your journey along this week and will be sad that I don't have it to turn into every evening next week. We sail on the RCI Oasis in 12 days (WooHoo) and on the Celebrity Eclipse NYE cruise. It sounds as if you have come to the same conclusion that we have. We have tried them all and we are sticking to RCI and X and working on making Elite and Diamond asap! Thanks so much for your review it was GREAT! h20cruzer Posted April 15, 2013 #711 Share Posted April 15, 2013 It brought a tear to my eye watching the Silhouette sail away to Rome, one year ago I was on the Silhouette sailing to Rome. I had a wonderful time. I wonder if any of the people I met are on the Silhouette this year? Chris great review and pics love that you love to do this. I have followed Radio and trainman-2 on RCCL nice to see a Celebrity live review. Thanks again Norma
Newbie Cruiser 2010 Posted April 15, 2013 #712 Share Posted April 15, 2013 Hi there Newbie Cruiser 2010 If the policy is the same as Eclipse, smoking is allowed only Deck 5 port side?, Deck 12 Port side, Deck 14 Starboard by the bar and port side in the sunset bar...hope that is of help. Thank you. It is very much help. For some reason I thought this cruise line allowed smoking in the cabins. So happy to hear that they don't. BugsyCruiser Posted April 15, 2013 Author #719 Share Posted April 15, 2013 The last of the positives... It's just the little things. Like... The crew genuinely looking like they enjoyed serving customers. Smiling, joking around... just looking like they were happy to be there How about when I change my clothes for dinner and I come back and find the clothes I changed out of, folded for me. Never asked my cabin steward to do that but he was kind enough to do it for me. I found one tea that I really liked, the raspberry. When they switched it to peach, I told them I just felt it was awful and would prefer to have raspberry for the rest of the week. It was immediately changed to that. Didn't have to ask twice, or make a phone call Not a lot of Captains are as socialable as Captain Kafetzis is. He's always joking around and on sea days he always comes by Cafe Al Bacio to chat with passengers and take pictures with them. He loves what he does and it shows. I just love the look of the ship. Sleek and modern. And that horn... it's my second favorite behind the one on Oasis and Allure :) While our stop in Labadee is only 7 hours it seems like Celebrity gets some VIP treatment there. A shuttle to the cabanas for example. At the same time a minor complaint is that we're there only 7 hours versus 9 hours when Oasis or Allure are there. I would have enjoyed an extra two hours. BugsyCruiser Posted April 15, 2013 Author #721 Share Posted April 15, 2013 Thanks for all the nice compliments my friends. LIVE reviews can be extremely aggravating, frustrating, time consuming, and downright difficult at times to do IMHO but well worth the effort that is needed to do them. I can only hope that mine will be half as good as Radio's and Trainman-2's are. I'm not done yet as I will be giving the few negatives that I felt there were on Celebrity Silhouette but they are indeed, few. So for now this is your reporter saying thanks for tuning in everyone. OUT :D
