Does Celebrity offer Back to Back cruises

My wife and I are interested in a 14 day back to back but don't see them on the Celebrity web site. Do we have to call to get pricing and availability for those? Thanks

Eclipse offers Caribbean Cruises for 14 nights. They are not back

to back...it is one long 14 night cruise.

Most cruises that people take "back to back" are (example) 2

separate 7 night sailings......doing 1, then another......b2b......

As far as I know there is no price break for back to back cruises. You simply book two cruises, preferably with the same cabin number. If you have problems finding the same cabin on both cruises then any TA or Celebrity phone rep should be able to help you. Once on board be sure to confirm with the customer relations desk that they know you are a back to back guest so you'll receive the proper information about turnover day procedures.

The B2B we did with HAL was 2-7 night cruises that were different ports and itinarary's.

Hi, oh, you may do that with any of the itineraries........if you

are interested in the Caribbean look under the dates from November

through April. That is when Celebrity has ships in the Caribbean.

There are always Eastern/Western Caribbean itineraries and you

may do any of them back to back.

We're doing one of them next year on the Equinox. 7 nights on June 14 from Venice to Istanbul, then staying on board for another 7 nights from Istanbul to Rome. I think there might even be another 7 nights that end up in Barcelona. It's really just a matter of sitting down and looking at all the itineraries and piecing them together yourself.

I read somewhere once that if you take two cruises on Celebrity and there's a day in between them, then Celebrity will cover the cost of the hotel. I don't know much about it though.

There are lots of opportunities for these but, unlike HAL, Celebrity doesn't advertise or promote back to back cruises together. For example I've seen some cruise lines offer 14 night cruises which are really two 7 night cruises and Celebrity doesn't advertise them that way.

You'll find that some Celebrity ships do the identical, or nearly identical, itinerary every cruise, some do alternating itineraries (such as the Eclipse 10 and 11 night cruises in the Caribbean in the winter which alternate between eastern and western Caribbean) and some do itineraries which are pretty different every cruise with some even traveling one way and not round trip to the same starting port. But you'll need to find these on your own looking through Celebrity's web site or brochures or with the help of a Travel Agent or a Celebrity telephone rep.

It really isn't too hard to find. Just go to the Celebrity web site "Plan a Cruise" page (http://www.celebritycruises.com/search/vacationSearchResults.do). Pick the destination and time frame you like and pick a cruise that interests you then check and see what that same ship is doing the preceding or following cruise.

Unfortunately that policy ended in April 2013. I was very surprised to hear it since I doubt that many sailing guests took advantage of it so why not offer a nice perk.

You can take any back to back combination you like, with Celebrity, or any other cruise line, either continuing on the same ship or mixing and matching as you wish.

In the past, if you had a night in port between the two cruises they would comp your hotel and transfers, but we recently heard that they will no longer be doing that in the future, although they still did it last month.

Some examples of popular back to back combinations offered by Celebrity are

- a transatlantic cruise and a European cruise

- a Panama Canal cruise and a transatlantic cruise

- an eastern Caribbean cruise with a western Caribbean cruise

- Alaska cruises northbound and southbound

- a repositioning cruise between North and South America with a cruise around Cape Horn to the opposite coast

- a Panama Canal cruise with a Hawaii cruise, or with a coastal repositioning cruise

- a repositioning cruise of any kind with just about any other kind of cruise tacked on either before or after the repositioning

I was thinking the same thing as the OP. We did a HAL cruise that was offered as two separate cruises or joined as one cruise that included ~10% (if I recall correctly) price break. It was advertised as two cruises but also offered as one which made it easier to identify and book. With Celebrity we are doing the Mediterranean and a T/A but we received two separate invoices, essentially two separate bookings and, as near as I can tell, no financial incentive for doing a "back to back". And, naturally, there are two separate roll calls!

Although Celebrity does not normally market back to backs, there are some major online TAs that will often put 2 or more cruises together as a marketing tool. We ourselves have done back to backs on Celebrity (most recently this past Oct on the Silhouette) and must admit that X makes it a bit of a hassle. Because they had promotions on both of our cruises (11 day and 14 day) we had to book them separate and get 2 different booking numbers. Unlike lines like HA where you check-in only once, and your cruise card is good for the entire cruise (no matter how many segments) on X we had to actually turn-in our cruise card and get a new cruise card between the two cruises (we had to report to a special location during a set time frame). They also billed us as two cruises and our remaining internet time was not automatically carried over to the 2nd cruise. We did change cabins between the 2 cruises (balcony and then Aqua Class) and we had to be assertive to get our stuff moved from one cabin to the other. There were no written instructions...and we had to assertively go to Guest Relations where we got a couple of different stories on how and when to move our stuff. In the end, we tipped our Steward and asked him to move all of our stuff (he happily took the tip and did a great job).

We will do a B2B next year - Transpacific + Hawaii. Maybe we will extend it to a B2B2B Transpacific + Hawaii + Alaska.

And right, the first two legs we booked as a package from a TA. But at the end this will be 2 separated cruises in Celebrity's system.

Next year Celebrity will offer 1 week cruises in Europe, which can be combined up to 4 weeks with totally different stops. (Equinox in June/July)

But also right is that Celebrity offers a lot 14 day cruises without the need to combine 2 cruises.

The Summit will visit 9 different ports with only St Thomas being duplicated since it will visit 5 ports per 7 day sailing the Southern itinerary from Oct 2014 through April of 2015, debarking from San Juan. The Silhouette will alternate between Eastern and Western Caribbean from Jan through April of 2014 and from Nov 2014 through April of 2015, debarking from Ft. Lauderdale.

This is all very useful information for people looking at B2Bs, especially the promos and internet.

Of course, there are reasons a B2B can work to your advantage over a longer cruise, in relation to the Captain's Club. If trying to earn loyalty, two 7-night cruises as B2B in CC/AQ gets you 4 points instead of 3 points (for a single 14-night). And if you are Select or Elite, all the coupons are handed out twice. And as I understand it, if you are doing a B2B where the first leg puts you over 5, or 10 credits, the Captain's Club host(ess) can make sure you get recognition for your upgraded tier on the second leg.

Celebrity has had B2B promos occasionally but the OBC in our case was not combineable with another OBC such as Passages or Stock Credit.

Twice in our cruise history a TA has provided one invoice for a B2B cruise and then Celebrity gave us only a single credit: sailing from Baltimore to Tampa by way of San Juan and once back in 99 on a Century B2B out of Miami.

We returned in May from 65 days on Solstice, Auckland to Seattle. It was a wonderful trip, which my DH and I put together with the help with our great travel planner at Celebrity.

I am NOT jealous:D:);)..wow...how awesome. You were cruising

for more than 2 months......

Thanks, Lois, it was fun the whole time. The five cruises each had different demographics so the atmosphere was different each time. The crew were all terrific and acted like we were part of the family almost. And the other couples who were on all five with us were a great bunch, too.

We do it all the time, most often out of San Juan, 7+7.

No point flying all the way there for just a seven day cruise for us... and in fact we have mixed and matched too.

Match a B2B one one line with another. Last time it was the Summit followed by the Caribbean Princess. :p Let us immediately in real time compare the differences between the two first hand.

Not any more.

We have a b2b scheduled Feb/Mar 2014. 1st cruise ends 3/7, 2nd one starts 3/8. When we booked we were told Celebrity/RCL would be picking up the cost of the hotel. From my understanding in April or May that changed and they no longer do it, we weren't even grandfathered in, we booked July, 2012.

Yes. But you reserve each week as a separate cruise. For example, book one week eastern caribbean on the solstice and book the second week western caribbean on the solstice. When you board the ship, just notify the Customer Service division. I think that they would already be aware of the fact that you are staying for the second week. You can leave your luggage in your cabin, as long as you have the same cabin, then you will be escorted off the ship with other back to back guests, to a special waiting area as a customs requirement. You will be escorted back on the ship as a priority guest. If you have a TA or book with Celebrity directly, they will provide you with specifics.

I do not believe you get any special perks for sailing back to back but could be wrong as things do change.

Enjoy your cruises.
