Rare Vict0riann Posted August 18, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2013 Our next cruise is 28 days (with a 42-day one after that), and I swear I will take my electric toothbrush. I really miss it when I don't have it. DH can carry it for me! (He takes all the "electronics" in his hand-carry bag.)
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 18, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2013 I always take my DH with me.

Krazy Kruizers Posted August 18, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2013 We have over 120 cruises on various cruise lines that there isn't anything new or different that we would take on a cruise.

Cruising-along Posted August 18, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 18, 2013 We always bring our electric toothbrushes too. :D On my next cruise I will be bringing something different --- my best friend for her first cruise!
alwaysfrantic Posted August 18, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 18, 2013 Sudafed & cough medicine. Was covered for blisters, stomach trouble, cuts, and allergies. Forgot what we actually ended up needing.
Randyk47 Posted August 18, 2013 #9 Share Posted August 18, 2013 New? Hmmm....with all of our business and personal travel over the years we pretty much have a standard packing routine and list of things we pack. The one thing different is that for the first time in 20 years we may not take true formal wear (i.e., tux and gowns) as there is only one formal optional night out of a 12-day cruise. We're thinking a dark suit for me and nice outfits for Mrs. K. Not exactly new but different.
Typhoon1 Posted August 18, 2013 #10 Share Posted August 18, 2013 I always take my DH with me. I want to leave mine home one of these cruises. I listen to enough complaints at home.

jebhoward3 Posted August 18, 2013 #12 Share Posted August 18, 2013 Small magnets with glow-in-the dark butterflies that I use to organize papers for tours in port and invitations to various functions. There always seems to be at least one wall that has metal that the magnets will stick to.

DH wants to take some silly putty stuff to stick up invitations, etc., but magnets might be cleaner!
jaspersmycat Posted August 19, 2013 #14 Share Posted August 19, 2013 I am bringing a battery-powered light that is motion activated. I'll put it in the bathroom for late night visits. That way I don't have to turn on the bathroom light waking my roommate before I can close the door. (It is small and easy to pack.)
jagsfan Posted August 19, 2013 #15 Share Posted August 19, 2013 A very mild fragrance room deodorizer. Every time I cruise with DH I wish I'd brought one. It would be funny if he brings one, too!

I wanted to take a night light last cruise but one (in an inside), but I didn't think it would work in the "shavers only" socket in the bathroom. Batteries would be good. I'll ask for one for my birthday!
Taz Posted August 19, 2013 #17 Share Posted August 19, 2013 A battery operated travel alarm, a couple of clothespins to keep my curtains closed, a travel corkscrew, duct tape and perhaps a new cocktail dress if the alterations can be done in time. smokinmike Posted August 19, 2013 #18 Share Posted August 19, 2013 We're on the Maasdam for 2 weeks at the beginning of December so . . . 1. Various Wilson zinfandels, Ramey chards and assorted sauvignon blancs for dinners. 2. Some snorkel stuff for Bonaire. 3. A few new iPod playlists for the balcony. 4. Some really good Bordeaux blends for that balcony. 5. A healthy appetite for fun!
smokinmike Posted August 19, 2013 #19 Share Posted August 19, 2013 . . . and a new white dinner jacket for formal nights! . . . shawl collar, of course.
iancal Posted August 19, 2013 #20 Share Posted August 19, 2013 DW and as little else as I can. Very few electronics and enough clothing for about 5 days max. DW takes a little more, but not much. And some wine of course...four bottles for a seven day cruise. Malbecs and Cabs for those afternoons on the verandah.
napunani Posted August 19, 2013 #21 Share Posted August 19, 2013 Battery operated tea lights. Great as a night light wherever needed. Highlighter to mark the daily schedule. Suction-cup hooks to hang robes, hats, etc.

We have two cruises booked...a Collector's Cruise on the NA from Barcelona in October...and a Caribbean journey on the Maasdam once again end of January...embarking 4 days before the cut off date! So we may as well make hay while the sun shines. ;)

PirateShark Posted August 19, 2013 #24 Share Posted August 19, 2013 Waterproof case for my camera. What I'm NOT taking for the first time ever on a cruise - formal wear. As for DH, well we are a package deal of course :)
