north29 Posted October 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 5, 2013 As a elite cruiser (D+ RC) now taking a X cruise. Does, X offer perks on the first day like RC? For example BOGO free for the Specialty restaurants? Does X stil have coupon books or just electronic on your Room key?
WestLakeGirl Posted October 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2013 It's a single sheet of coupons, not a booklet, will be stapled to your Elite instructions in your stateroom. There may be deals on first-night specialty restaurants depending on how their bookings have been going. Look for a table set up in the terminal and/or in the atrium area during boarding and see what deal they are offering
Miss SeaBee Posted October 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 5, 2013 I know there are spa service discounts. You don't have to have the treatment that day, just book it. It is less than if you book online, and they have more time slots opened up than they would have on the online pre-cruise booking. I learned this the hard way. Now I just take the spa tour the first day, and reserve several discounted spa treatments for the week ahead. The deepest discounts are for port days, which works for me, because I usually don't bother with the ports. :)
Miss SeaBee Posted October 5, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 5, 2013 Oh, and you don't have to be elite, these are discounts for everyone. I am not elite, but when we have a premium suite, we get complimentary elite coupons, and I have not found any of them to be all that great. There were a few free internet minutes, which was enough for me to go and print our boarding passes for the flight home. We don't drink alcohol, so the stampede to the elite cocktail hours were ignored by us. The laundry discounts were disappointingly restricted. We only do 7 day cruises, and the free laundry is only for something like the first 3 days of the cruise, before my clothes are dirty.

As elite you get 90 free internet minutes, a bag of free laundry and some, good discounts on dry cleaning. Like those coupons.

There were a few free internet minutes, which was enough for me to go and print our boarding passes for the flight home. This is a bit surprising. jagoffee Posted October 6, 2013 #7 Share Posted October 6, 2013 This is a bit surprising. Each person gets 1 1/2 hours so if there were two of you that's 3 hrs. It would seem someone takes a very long time to check in and print boarding passes.
Miss SeaBee Posted October 6, 2013 #8 Share Posted October 6, 2013 This is a bit surprising. Each person gets 1 1/2 hours so if there were two of you that's 3 hrs. You are probably right. I have used Celebrity's internet before, and it was just so slow, I don't bother anymore, so I didn't pay attention to the amount of minutes. Sorry if that was misleading. I just knew that I had enough minutes to print my boarding passes, and that is all I wanted to use the internet for.

junetraveler2014 Posted October 6, 2013 #10 Share Posted October 6, 2013 Hi, what is considered a premium suite:confused: I am assuming it is the Penthouse, Royal suite and the Celebrity Suites are premium and sky is considered a mini suite as they only have one room. Do you know this to be? Thanks for your help!

Do you know this to be? Thanks for your help! I think it varies. I have gotten the elite coupons with Royal Suite and Celebrity Suite once. Another time with CS, I didn't. cruisegirl1 Posted October 6, 2013 #13 Share Posted October 6, 2013 Please note that the nightly Elite cocktail hour is NOT held on the first night of the cruise or on the night of the Captain's cocktail reception. As mentioned, be sure to call Celebrity and get that Captains Club membership. Reciprocity is not automatic, you have to call to get it activated. kathynorth Posted October 6, 2013 #17 Share Posted October 6, 2013 Only one set of coupons, not two? If there are 2 elite passengers then you get 2 sets of coupons. If the other passenger in the cabin is not elite then you get 1 set of coupons, but the 2nd passenger can get a visitor card so they can access elite events. As an FYI, the internet minutes are 90min per elite coupon. There is a one coupon per elite passenger limit. This means that if there are 2 elites in the same cabin with 2 sets of coupons then they'll need to set up 2 internet accounts if they wish to access all 180 internet mins. bplazo Posted October 7, 2013 #18 Share Posted October 7, 2013 My favorite coupon was the free laundry. It was so nice to have most of the laundry done when we got back home.
miched Posted October 7, 2013 #19 Share Posted October 7, 2013 You will be guaranteed to be next in line when you check in. You will have a choice of a free glass of bubbly, OJ or mimosa when boarding. You will have or get a message on the phone/and/ or letter from the Captain Club Host(ess) welcoming you aboard and reminding you of events for the Elite. You will have first choice of seats in the dining room at your table if you are there before the other table mates. You will have choice of seats in the theater for the show if you are the first one in there. There is no Elite HH on the first night. There will be a free liquor tasting. If you are in AQ you will have a opportunity to dine in a specialty restuarant for 1/2 price for the first night only. Other guests may get a discount. You will have a sheet of coupons in your cabin. I have used the coupon for the free dry cleaning and pressing for my suit. The rest are discounts for the spa photographs, bingo, wine, and casino, plus a laundry offer. Photos have been posted of the sheet on here and some intensive reviews. Basically there is nothing special for the Elite on the first day except to have a great time because you will starting the first day on hopefully the best cruise you have ever been on. .:D
