Casino Club??? Point System???

Recommended Posts

Want to find out if Royal Caribbean has Casinos at Sea or Fun Club or something that passengers can join for credits toward free drinks or other things. Carnival has a great casino club and we have enjoyed free drinks, cash upon arriving and casino presents in our room (choc. covered strawberries, champagne, wine at dinner, beach towels, tervis tumblers).

We are Emerald with RC and Platinum with Carnival. Would come back to RC if there were some of these programs.

Thanks for your help. Debbie :)

Royal Caribbean's program is called Club Royale. You must be invited to join. Qualification depends on your game of choice. If you play slots, you need to earn 2,000 points (1 point = $5 wagered). I'm not sure what's required for table games (amount per bet and hours played).

Club Royale's primary perk is a cash rebate or payment toward your next Royal Caribbean cruise based on your play during your previous cruise. You can also receive onboard perks like free drinks, waiving the 5% cash-from-SeaPass fee, and other incidentals.

Club Royale is actually an excellent players club. But it is pretty much by invitation only, and doesn't really offer a lot of rewards to the casual player. Table play is a minimum $25 per hand bet. However, if you're a more serious gambler, there are some great perks.

I generally bet $50-100 per hand blackjack, and play for an hour-and-a-half to two hours an evening. My next cruise cost me almost nothing and I'm getting close to $1,000 in cash rebate from the casino on board.

We have been members of Club Royale for years.

You do not have to do "$5." per spin...

It is based on points just as any land casino is.

We are basically quarter slot players. Obviously you need to play longer in the casiino when you do quarters than someone doing dollars. I do howerver always play max coin in

Every point counts so I always put my card(room key) in the machine even when just passing through for a few minutes.

You should average about 300 points per day on a cruise to qualify. If I do not play one day...I make it up the next.

If you make that many points....before the cruise is over...if no one approched you...find the Club Royale host & sign up. Once the casino has closed for your trip, it is to late.

You only need to qualify once to be a member....

The perks are VERY generous. Money off your next cruise....applied like cash so it does not conflict with other discounts.

Free drinks in the casino. We always have a comp bottle of wine delivered to the dining room before the end of the cruise. They usually also get us a comp specialty restaurant before the end.

You do not have to wait in line on Oasis or Allure for the shows if you do not have reservations.

AND ONE OF THE BEST PARTS... it is interchangable with Celebrity's Blue Chip Club.

So, if I have earned $500. off a next cruise while on the Oasis....I can apply it to either a Royal or Celebrity future cruise.

My husband & I each have our own accounts so we each get notified about 3 weeks after our cruise what our discounts for our next cruise will be.

If you play slots regularly at all......always use your card !

I am a Club Royale member since 2009 when I was approached by casino staff to sign me up. I had my first reciprocal experience as a Blue Chip Club player on a Celebrity Silhouette 13-night cruise in November. I set my daily out-of-pocket limit on that cruise at $100...and some nights I didn't have to use my money, I had winnings from the previous night to use. I only play slots, and was in the casino every evening playing different denominations, mostly pennies and quarters. On my cruise, Silhouette had a 10x points promotion every day from 11pm - midnight, so I made a point of playing only during those hours. Acquiring extra points during the promotional hour also allowed me to more quickly earn instant cash back, which can be activated right at the slot machine. I also appreciate the waiver of the 5% fee for getting cash against my sea pass account. About a month ago I contacted Blue Chip Club to find out if I had earned any rebate on a future cruise and was told I had earned $225. I'm having it applied as a credit in the casino for a Royal Caribbean cruise in November, where I'll use my Club Royale card to accumulate points and dollars for the next cruise.

The program is great and I by no means consider myself a high roller (I rarely play anything above a $1.50 - $2.00 bet per spin, and most are less than that) so I was surprised I was asked to join, and surprised I continue to earn rebates.

To clarify there are 2 separate things going on with Royal's casino rewards:

1. Everyone can place their sea pass card in a slot machine and immediately start acquiring points, just like in any land based casino. They post a chart describing how many points it takes to reach certain prizes. Prizes include cash back, t-shirts, polo shirts, keychains, specialty restaurants, etc.

2. Club Royale. It's like earning the premium card at land based casinos. If your play reaches a certain level (slots are tracked by sea pass card, table players are rated as usual), you may get invited into club royale. They literally approach you and invite you in...a little strange. Once in, the rewards are very good. Those levels are posted on the website, which I think was linked above.

Hi guys.

I am a little bit confused. I previously went with Royal Caribbean back in 2013 and was approached ( on the second day mind you lol ) obviously spent way to much in the casino.to be a VIP In theClub Royal. I immediately had heaps of rewards given - free drinks / tshirts key chains specialty dining / bottle of champagne etc. . Anyway at the end of the cruise I was sent an email offereing 1475.00 rebate in the casino on my next cruise. Unfortunately I was not able to travel within the 12 months required but have now booked again for a 10 nighter in February. I sent them an email to see if there was any offer they could give me ( have already booked and paid via a travel agent) they sent me a reply to advise this rewards program stopped back in March 2016 but they will still honour my rebate !!! Now the question is - does this mean I immediately have rebate apply to my seapass to play in the casino (slots) of 1475.00 or do I have to earn 1475.00 to get it applied .. Any help would be appreciated. Jane

I would call Casino Royale and ask for specifics on your rebate. Cash rebates have been gone for a while. They are in the process of implementing a new system that none of us have details on. I would see if this money could be applied to your cruise. If you already paid in full, they can refund your credit card. You're getting the same thing, just in a round about way. Also make sure you introduce yourself to the casino host on the first day. They will generally place a VIP sticker on your seapass card which may give you some additional perks and comp drinks in the casino.

Agree that your best bet is to call Club Royale directly. They are often very flexible with how they allow you to apply your rebate/FCC/coupon...whatever you have. 888-561-2234. While the coupons always have an expiration date I have never had them deny me applying the coupon value to a future cruise I have already booked. As the others have mentioned, cash rebates are gone but IMO the new FCC's are better than the cash rebates used to be - at least for me.

Another good reason to contact CR before your next sailing is to make sure they are aware that you are coming. Also be SURE that you call CR before you make ANY cruise reservations. The Club Royale rate almost always beats any of the RCI promos (BOGOHO/30% off, etc.). You can save lots of money by booking your cruises directly through CR. If you then decide to transfer the reservation to a TA that's fine. They will transfer it over without any problem but I have found it beneficial to book directly with CR first.

Table play minimum is not $25 per hand. I play 3 card poker where the minimum is $15/$20. I used to be a once cruise a year cruiser but with the offers they've given me, I now have 4 future cruises booked. We just got off of a short, 5 day cruise on Grandeur to Bermuda and our savings on a grand suite room was $1500. We just received a free cruise offer in an ocean view room for December on our choice of 4 ships. We picked a 7 day cruise on Liberty and paid to upgrade to a grand suite.

Benefits are really great but you do have to wait for them to ask you to join. I do play a lot but I'd play whether I was in the club or not.

This is not true ( exactly). You could still earn cash back rebates up until march 15th of this year . Strangely you also had to book your next cruise by march 15th. If you did that.. You would still get your rebate on your upcoming sailing.

I have a rebate I earned on the Navigator as cash back that I will get when I get on my sailing in November. However... Instead of handing you the cash you get "special" chips that you can use. I just take them all to the tables

.

so if you are going to play. It's no big deal. just trade your 1500 in chips in for Real chips. and then play..

I know it's kinda confusing. but... if you booked prior to march. and asked them to apply it.. you still get it. (sorta)

You won't get cash. You will get an OBC for the amount applied to your onboard account. Check with the host after sailing and they will let you know. If it's not there waiting for you then they will find out soon enough and you will get the amount in freeplay instead.

I gambled the slots on the Allure two weeks ago, lucky and un lucky at times, did not break even but loss not too painful, some days kept winning enough to keep playing.

I accumulated over 700 points and on the second to last night cashed them out for $15.00. But you had to cash them out on a machine and play it on that machine, no cash to go. (Do I really need $15 after gambling for 6 nights????)

So dont get excited on this program

Oh I did win a free $100 off cruise certificate that I can apply to a future cruise, not to be combined with any other offers............................

Hi again.. normally Im not very worried about deals etc but when I am talking over 1400 US .. well that is quite a lot. I still don't understand ( sorry ) they have advised it will be applied as rebate on my seapass card for casino use .. That's ok - but does this mean that when I put my card in a machine in the casino I automatically have 1400 applied to play with ?? If I win I would intend to pull it out ( wouldn't you ?? ) or will it make me play until the 1400 is used in play - win and loss play - eg over 1400 spent it will then be mine ?? Just know Im going to get sucked in here.. Jane

It could likely be a non-cashable credit on your seapass - if you have winnings - cash those out so it is always drawing on credit. Not sure how it would work if you bought it all in chips...

As others have mentioned, the program has changed in the last year or so.

Today, anyone can join Club Royale. It is no longer "by invitation only" to become a member HOWEVER to be considered a CR VIP, you still must "qualify". Only VIP members are eligible for casino rates on cruises and other perks such as free drinks in the casino. Anyone (even if you are not a member of CR !) can receive future cruise coupons. These coupons can be used for "free" cruises or can be applied to a cruise you have already booked (as long as there are no other CR credits on that cruise. Club Royale rate on your room is NOT considered a "credit").

So the answer to your question about how much you have to spend in order to "rated" is....you do not have to SPEND $10K but you must risk a substantial amount (is that amount $10K. Probably not). Frankly, they don't care whether you win or lose b/c they know that eventually, you WILL lose. It goes by how much you wager, not how much you win or lose.

Before others start throwing flames, I know there are those out there that believe that it DOES matter whether you win or lose. Some say that if you win, you don't get the same level of "play back" that you get if you lose but my experience is that whether you win or lose, the casino treats you the same. It's all about the risk...the wager...and the level of play - win or lose. IMO

Thanks for the info. And I will agree - casinos (any casino) don't really care whether you win or lose. They all know they're going to get your money eventually. In fact, if you win, that's a good thing in their eyes - because you're more likely to return. In the long run, the house always ... ALWAYS ... has the odds in their favor. They WILL get your money. Of course, it still doesn't keep me from playing. :D

OK, now I am really confused.

I don't cruise very often -- every year or two.

I recently cruised in Sept/Oct 2015, 7 days and spent several hours daily in the casino. I played slots exclusively and only pennies/quarters.

My budget was maybe $1000 total and I gave them back every bit that I won.

No one approached me during the cruise.

After I got home, I started receiving offers from Club Royale for discounted rooms and entries into slot tournaments on selected sailings including free tourney entry fees and free drinks in the casino and free cocktail parties.

I made another cruise reservation -- not on one of these tournament cruises -- but on a February cruise that worked with my schedule.

A few weeks after booking that cruise I got an email from Club Royale with a credit of $125 on that cruise which could be deducted from my balance or used as an OBC once I arrived.

Of course I am pleased to receive the credit, but don't really know what I did to deserve it. I didn't spend that much to be considered a VIP.

Anyone else have any experience with something like this?

This is where my thoughts differ from others with regard to gambling. IMO, I haven't won anything if I'm ahead until I STOP playing! Otherwise, if I'm still playing, I'm just holding onto the house's money for them, until such time it's "returned" to them.
