I heard Rui as well. (I think that's right. Is that his usual

assistant maitre d'? I wasn't really paying attention)

 

I can ask on Monday.

 

 

LOVE Rui - that would be wonderful!!! :D

Please do ask as we board on Feb. 22 and would love to sail with him again. :D

 

(Godwin also used to be part of the team but I heard he was made Maitre D' on his own. )

I'm sorry, I asked today, and I have bad news for you.

 

Generoso joins Royal at the end of March. Godwin joins Royal

at the beginning of march (may 13th?)

 

...so not in time for your cruise. :(

 

I think this is true, but it is only a little better than a rumor.

Hello everybody.

Me and my friend are supposed to start our cruise on Regal on February 28-th and I would like to ask you if anyone knows who is the Maitre'd and the Assistant Maitre'd, (the one in charge for the Horizon Court buffet and all the other alternative dining venues). I'm hoping that the Maitre'd or the Assistant Maitre'd is somebody we know from our past cruises. We always loved to have most of our meals in the Horizon Court.

If someone knows who they are please let me know.

I found out recently that Luigi Moretti will be on the Grand in April. Anyone ever sail with him? I had Rui Pereira last time.

We sailed with him back in August. He is not the most outgoing MD we have encountered but will relax a bit if you initiate the conversation.

 

We saw him most every morning at breakfast in Sabatini's.

Is the Rui you are referring to from Portugal? We had a wonderful head waiter on the Royal Princess named Rui, right after the Royal came out, so wondering if it is the same Rui?

 

 

He is the Rui from Portugal! I didn't get to interact with him much, but he seemed nice :)

Wonderful, it appears that he has been promoted! He was the most attentive and friendly head waiter we have ever encountered and made it a memorable cruise, for many reasons!

He is the Rui from Portugal! I didn't get to interact with him much, but he seemed nice :)

 

There are actually two Rui's from Portugal.. One is Head Waiter on Caribbean Princess at present. The other Rui is Maitre'd on the Grand Princess.. Last year they were together on the Grand.. They come from the same city in Portugal and are big fans of opposing soccer teams.. We had them both on two different cruises and every night and they were very entertaining.. This year on the Grand, Maitre'd Rui was pleasant, but very involved with two large groups of very demanding passengers.. I felt sorry for him..always rushing with a worried look..no time to visit with anyone as he was his normal custom.
