How did you get this information? I wish Princess would go back to sending out informative pre-cruise email. We sail October 8 for 28 days on Emerald and I've been trying to find out who will be the CD, maître d'hôtel, etc.

 

The list above suggests that we "may" have Rui which would be fine with me but I'm unsure if he will still be onboard in October.

We do have the same captain but I believe Corey is leaving Emerald Princess just before our cruise. Would love to have Rui - he's great. It's just sad that Princess no longer sends out this info. The only mail we've gotten is the one "from the Captain" (yeah, right) which basically "reminds" us to fill out the passenger information which I filled out completely back in September of 2016 when I booked the cruise. Not real helpful or informative other than confirming the captain.

Those precruise emails are a mess. Some people get them, most don't. Sometimes they're not even for the right cruise. We haven't had any for our last three cruises. For the one next month we got emails, but where the person's name should be it's blank; they only say "captain" or "maitre d'" without saying who the captain is. They're basically ads.

I called on Aug. 16th for info on our Sept. 10th cruise. The rep could only give me info for the Aug.29 sailing because she didn't have the September info yet.

Me too. I'll never understand why they did away with those. It was the easiest, cheapest way to get passengers in a cruising mood. We used to really look forward to seeing if we recognized any of the names.

I was on a cruise on the Emerald quite a few years ago, where I did receive the e--mails. When I boarded the Captain was different than what the e-mail stated. Maybe that's a reason why they don't do it anymore, things happen and delays can occur when transitioning personnel. And I know people have their favorites and maybe even book to be on a certain cruise with their fave, then are very upset when the plans have been changed. Just a thought.

We just received the wonderful pre-cruise dining email with the information that Rui will be on Maitre D' on the Oct. 8 28 day Tahiti cruise. YAY!!!!!

Thank You! I too am on that cruise and I find it interesting that not all of us receive the same email from Princess. Does it go to my TA instead of me? I have not been receiving this type of pre-cruise email in a very long time, or really any email from Princess at all. I know they have my correct email address.

Two years ago we had Rui on Grand for Halloween. He was a mean Dracula handing out candy. Kids did a double take before taking any candy from him. He also cooks a wonderful Pesto Pasta in the Atrium. He's great.

Oh no!! What happened to Oscar being on the Pacific? I was so looking forward to seeing him again when I'm cruising on her in a few weeks. Oscar is such a delight and most entertaining!!
