Blu for breakfast

AQ and Suites. We had a suite on our last cruise and had breakfast every morning there. It was fantastic. It is almost with the price of AQ just for breakfast. We booked AQ for our upcoming cruise only because the suite prices were out of sight. AQ gives you the small ship experience on a large ship and I enjoy that.

On morning on theEquinox in April, 2013 we were having breakfast when several folks, who we hadn't remembered seeing in Blu earlier in the cruise, walked past the seating hostess's podium and were standing near the galley entrance. The seating hostess had been seating a party and she immediately went over to talk to these folks. I couldn't hear her words, but one of the passengers was facing me. She must have told them that they were not eligible to dine in Blu as he was giving her some push back, arguing that there was a line to be seated at breakfast in the MDR and he could see empty tables in Blu. She refused to seat them and they left. We began to talk about it with the couple seated at the table next to us, and we all agreed that she was clearly correct.

The egg yolks in Blu are the deepest orange, like none I've ever seen. I inquired and was told they came from The Netherlands. I wonder if this is really true. In any case the eggs are delicious

Interesting, since my eggs were always very good, but I never inquired as to the color of the yolk.

How uncomfortable for that poor hostess. I guess it is part of her job.

Two weeks ago we asked the Blu hostess on Silhouette if friends in a concierge class cabin could join us one night. She was absolutely emphatic that only Aqua Class & suites were able to dine in Blu. She said, "we make allowances for suite guests, and for suite guests only." I actually appreciated her firmness.

I have seen a few times where passengers try to abuse and give away privledges to others that are not theirs to give.

One morning i overheard a passenger talking to the Manager in Blu about bringing friends for dinner. He said it would be no problem. I reported the incident to a few people and was told that it would be taken care of and that was a problem that had to be addressed.

I have seen people also trying to sneak others in with them and were stopped.

On one cruise the Captain Club host got in confrontation by a Elite member about bringing friends into the Elite function. He was going to kick her little a$$ all over the ship and off because he had clout. She called security and he was escorted away. Was told that the legal department would be called and he may be kicked off at the next port.

It makes me feel good that some do take their jobs seriously and also appreciate when they do. I will always fill out a Attention to Detail Card recognizing them as I was told how valuable those comments are.

That's a shame - I have heard that breakfast in Blu is far superior than the other options.

I also have some dietary requirements which I need to consider..

I really want to use our balcony!

Maybe room service one night... although unsure how my dietary requirements will work :/

If you get room service one night it will be from MDR as Blu does not do room service.
