Winchester Ranger Posted February 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2014 We have a budget of 8k for a 7 night Caribbean cruise in late April or early May. It's a special occasion and even though it's our third cruise I have no idea where to start !! Any cruise line, any ship, any itinerary (but must be Caribbean). The budget is just for the cruise reservation - 2 adults under 55. If you could help me find the best cruise/cabin/value combo I'll love you forever !! EdmPair Posted February 14, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2014 For that coin you have lotsa choice. Heck, most any ship will do and then take me too! You can move a bit upscale in either line or cabin.

Well we just sailed on Allure of the Seas in November and it was an awesome experience. I would stay on that ship and never get off in a port and be happy. It was outstanding!! Google some images of this ship or the sister ship Oasis of the Seas and you will see what I mean. With your budget you could afford one of the wonderful suites.....:D

Cruisin' Chick Posted February 14, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 14, 2014 Why not talk to a TA such as a cruise specialist? They'll help you decide which cruise. And wow, $8K. Our last cruise was a holiday time two week cruise for three of us, and we spent under $6,000 total for our cruise fare.

Monalis Posted February 14, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 14, 2014 For that type of money I would go for a high end suite (owners or better) on NCL. They have the best added perks for their Suite guests (any suite) and you will be treated like royalty.
crzndeb Posted February 14, 2014 #8 Share Posted February 14, 2014 Everybody is mentioning the mainstream cruise lines...if your have 8k to spend for a 7 day Caribbean cruise, I would look into one of the all inclusive luxury cruise lines, like Crystal, Seabourn, Silverseas, Regent. Definitely check with a TA that specializes in cruises.
Rare LHT28 Posted February 14, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 14, 2014 I would contact a cruise specialist In your time frame you are looking at the mass market lines so maybe getting a larger suite would make the experience special Most of the upscale or Luxury lines have move away from the Caribbean for the summer

Celebrity, Princess, HAL etc pretty much sail Alaska, Canada/NE and Europe from around end of April until about mid October. Very few ships sail from Port Everglades (Oasis and Allure) in the summer though some ships do sail from Miami. ehfl Posted February 14, 2014 #12 Share Posted February 14, 2014 I would go for a Royal Loft suite on Allure or Oasis, or the lowest deck AquaSuite (with the biggest balcony and view of the AquaTheater).

Sherlock43031 Posted February 14, 2014 #15 Share Posted February 14, 2014 $8k.. it's time to move on up the cruise line food chain. even with airfare to Europe you could do the Med (or anywhere else over there) quite nicely for $8k. You could do the Serenade of the Sea's TA from NOLA to Barcelona it fits your time frame perfectly.
skandls Posted February 16, 2014 #16 Share Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) If you want a lot of entertainment on the ship - the Oasis or Allure. In full suite (anything above a Jr Suite) you will have access to the Concierge Lounge. Breakfast, lunch (if you want) free happy hour (5:30 t0 8:30 or there about). The shows are great and the ship has a lot going on. If you want lux and being spoiled then look at Seabourne, Regent or Silver Seas. The passengers will be older due to the higher prices. Even the cheapest cabins are very nice. Edited February 16, 2014 by skandls
Rare Essiesmom Posted February 16, 2014 #17 Share Posted February 16, 2014 Norwegian Getaway will be sailing from Miami on 7 day cruises. I hear that suites in The Haven are pretty luxurious and make it a totally different cruise experience. MSC Divina sails from Miami also, and her Yacht Club is another luxurious experience (so I read). EM
