Captains Circle - confused

We are due to sail this October for an eleven night cruise.

 

Under my profile I am listed as Elite but this includes our forthcoming holiday taking me over the required 150 days, so will I get Elite benefits for this holiday or will I have to completed this cruise before Elite kicks in?

Elite is usually the cruise following the one where you made the required number of days. 150 is required for elite.

 

however, it can also go on points. Once you reach 15 points you become elite. 1 point is awarded per cruise, if cruising solo you get 2 points. If in a full suite you get 2 points, or if solo in a full suite you get 3 points.

 

So, if you have completed 15 cruises, or have accumulated 15 points then that makes you elite in place of the required 150 days. summary, 150 days completed, or, 15 cruises completed. In practice you can take 5 cruises and be elite if solo in a full suite for each of those cruises.

I rather liked the idea of the laundry benefit. Is there any other benefit of Elite to look forward to?

If your personaliser says you are Elite then you will get the benefits, they got my status wrong on a trip last year (by two cruises) and I was Elite, the next cruise I was back to Platinum then the next I was back to Elite again. Its what the personaliser says.

It sounds to me that Princess has you as Elite. Check your cruise card whn you board. If it is Black, you are Elite.

When you sign into the Princess website, you can look at the number of cruises and days that you have sailed. It's under the "Saved and Shared Cruises." Click on the top entry that tells how many times you've sailed. Perhaps you counted the number of days wrong. Either way, if your Cruise Personalizer says you're Elite for your upcoming cruise, you probably will be.

Depending how long you have been cruising, not all your cruises need to have been on Princess to affect your status. There are carry over cruise credits from Sitmar and several lines that P&O brought out when Princess was under their corporation.

 

On our first Princess cruise, we were Platinum because of the previous cruiselines credits.

Not necessarily. We are cruising b2b on the Emerald in a few weeks. The 1st leg we are Elite;) BUT the 2nd leg we're back to Platinum:confused:

Receiving a 10% discount at shops is useful as is the priority tender boarding. With priority tender boarding you can join the back of the line without needing a tender ticket. Although sometimes when there are many elites onboard they have a separate entrance to a section of the dining room to give us group numbers & be escorted to the tender. It's also possible to have afternoon tea in your cabin which we've done only one time. The elite minibar is also very nice to receive and you will receive one per cabin for each cruise & here's what is included & the exchange options.

I always forget about the afternoon tea in the cabin. although me alone in an interior having tea doesn't sound very appealing. :p I do order the formal night appy though--love the chocolate covered strawberries!

There will be a card in your room that you hang outside your door.

This ordering card should be put there by your cabin steward the evening before each formal evening.

 

If you steward does not leave it and you do not see him that night, call room service in the morning and indicate you did not get the form. They will take your order over the phone.

If you don't know what Elite will get you, why are you so disappointed that it won't kick in until after the cruise?

Our cruise on Saturday will be our first as Elite. I printed off the list of benefits so we can remember them. We probably won't take advantage of everything, but it's good to know. Does the 10 percent boutique discount include liquor?

Actually, it's not completed cruises but # of cruise credits. They're not necessarily the same thing.

The new Elite cards are dark gray with a black stripe across the top. I liked the solid black ones better, but last three cruises, we have had the dark gray with black stripe.

There are also shrimp appetizers, little salami stuffed with deviled egg....wonderful!!

 

You can also mix them up. We usually order 3/3. You get a total of 6.
