Farewell Capt Sindre

Recommended Posts

So...tomorrow 23rd September Captain Sindre Borsheim leaves Royal Caribbean and Radiance of the Seas. Great for him to move on with his life but sad for us!

He has to be one of the most personable and visible Captains out there and such a funny guy.

Thanks Capt Sindre. You will be missed.

On Radiance Dec 2012 Xmas cruise, I was invited along with the other Diamond and above guests at the time (I didn't know it but it was only about 15 of us!!!) to meet at the front elevators deck 9. We were then (surprisingly to me as I had no clue) escorted down the hallway to the captain's quarters at the front of the ship where he had the entire boardroom decked out with finger food and drinks for us, with 5-6 of the top officers for us to mingle with for about 45 minutes. It was superb! I got to speak with Capt Sindre for about 5 minutes and of course had no clue who the Capt of this particular cruise was until this moment, but recognized him immediately from the Oasis videos as he was Staff Capt 2nd in command to Bill Wright. He was really great and quite funny actually. I do remember that time up there and has been the only time I had ever been invited into any of the Capt's quarters on any ship, so extremely memorable for me. Thank you Capt Sindre! :D

On another note, The Staff Capt to Capt Sindre at the time was a Canadian woman from Vancouver who for the life of me I cannot remember the name nor can I find by searching. I hope Mommabean or any other Radiance expert reading this thread can remind me her name please. :)

I cruised on radiance in 2012 from Sydney to Vancouver. I always saw him around the. Ship at various events greeting passengers. I also got to see him behind the bar in the CL. By the end of the cruise he knew me by name. I also enjoyed watching my friends reaction when I was watching radiance sail from canada place and he would open the window and say "Hi Nick". I will miss that. He even did that just after sounding the emergency signal for the muster drill. That really surprised my friend that time.

I am not sure of her last name. Her first name is Wendy .

When we sailed with him to Alaska (May 2013) he had his 8 month old baby boy onboard..we saw more young babies onboard that cruise than at any other time....gave us the idea and encouragement that we needed to sail this past May 2014 with our grandson.

Speaking of Bill Wright anyone know where he is now?

Saw him on those making the ship videos for freedom and oasis and have always wanted to sail with him.

All I know is that Captain Bill has left the company.

Caroline & I will definitely miss Capt Sindre,

he was one of the most personable and visible captains we have had.

He was our captain on the Radiance last Sept/Oct from

Honolulu to Sydney.

We had some fun times with him in the CL, captaining our tender in

Bora Bora, having his son Marcus with him during our bridge tour, always

running into him around the ship.

Thanks Capt Sindre you will be missed!!

Cheers,
