Only two banks of elevators on Oasis?

There are also crew stairways used in case of an emergency. However, the Oasis never feels crowded and the elevator's work swiftly. You can use the stairs if you want or the elevators anytime with waits being very rare. Surprisingly the Oasis functions and feels as though it is less crowded than most smaller ships. I think this is because RCCL has done an excellent job of crowd control and dispersing the passengers to destinations all over the ship all the time.

If I am walking from aft stairs to forward stairs, it appears on the deck diagrams that there are no break points to cut to the right or left out of the

Promenade or main thoroughfare on Deck 8.

If I am going to gym from aft stairs, it appears that I have to go through those high traffic areas except maybe on Deck 5 jogging track, or on

Deck 7 where it appears there is nothing...and once I am in center of Deck 7, there is no way out except to go forward or aft.

Am I reading this correctly?

Thanks from all of you who have walked this ship.

There is no place to GO in the middle of those walks. If you are walking down cabin corridors, you just walk past cabin after cabin after cabin, yes, from one set of elevators to the other.

Where do you want to go in the middle of the ship, that it bothers you that you have to walk to the stairs/elevators?

BTW, this is true on all ships. End to end.

Even on the Brilliance: Forward elevators and aft elevators. You have to walk from one to the other to change elevation (deck), either by elevator or stairs.

So...... there isn't an elevator that goes from aft to bow?

FYI.....elevators never a concern as I walk stairs.

Trying to ascertain most expedient way (time) to walk from aft stairs to forward stairs and back to aft stairs 3 times daily to meet a schedule for Conference Room on Deck 3. (without walking lonnnnng rows of cabins)

Think I will use Deck 5 jogging track.

Again, thanks for feedback.

Ah, you will be on board for a conference.

Bummer. Try to enjoy yourself anyway. :D

It will be the same distance, end to end, on ANY deck. So, just pick a deck.

The Royal Promenade doesn't get crowded unless an event is taking place, is about to begin, or has just ended. All such events (like parades and parties) will be listed in the Cruise Compass.

Deck 5 WILL be the lowest deck on which you can walk through - Deck 4 is blocked by the ice skating rink, Studio B. Deck 3 is blocked by YOUR conference center. ;)

FYI - you CAN walk all the way through on deck 4, the corridors run along the side of Studio B and let out into the casino, from which you then are at the stairs and elevators aft. Not the fastest way through as the casino is a pain to navigate, on purpose of course!

I have found the quickest - and most scenic way from aft to front is through c

Central Park. Never crowded, scenic and nice break from the commotion elsewhere on the ship, good place to clear your mind.

And for what it's worth, the two banks of elevators contain around 28 (or is it 32) elevators between them, not exactly a small amount!

You'll find the ship very easy to navigate once your onboard, it really does work well. And of the over 30+ cruises I've been on with several lines, the easiest ship to navigate over all that I've found. Enjoy your sailing.

Hi CU64, I had similar concern about this deck plan when I first looked at it. I was mentally comparing it to so many other ships a that have three banks of elevators and stairs. On those ships, the fore and aft elevators seemed awfully far from each other, so the middle one was really needed.

Once on the Allure, I realized that its two banks of elevators did not seem to be as far apart from each other. It just didn't seem so bad, once we were on the ship. Look at the deck plan and notice how the elevator banks have been located closer to the mid ship than they would have otherwise been. This is very noticeable for the aft elevators. It cut down on how much walking it takes to get from one to the other. Although it would make a lot of walking for anyone in a far aft cabin.

You are right, of course. Only on Oasis/Allure is that true: you actually can get from staircase to staircase on the same level as Studio B. Thank you. :)

No Royal Caribbean ship has three banks of elevators, with a set in the middle and one aft and one forward. (for passenger use)

(I stand ready to be corrected on that, too, but I don't think so ;) )

I don't think so either. I was going to write the same thing until I read your post.
