Dixie Cruiser Posted November 4, 2014 #801 Share Posted November 4, 2014 Heard you are being diverted to the Azores due to a medical emergency. Anyone else hear this? I'm trying to tack on various vessel trackers online but Quantum has not been updated since earlier yesterday.
hawks026 Posted November 4, 2014 #802 Share Posted November 4, 2014 I am curious what kind of snacks are available in diamond or concierge lounges. I know it can vary from ship to ship and wondered if it was anything unique on Quantum. I like when they have the chocolate covered strawberries! Also, keep us updated on the nightly turndown gifts - please and thank you!

Maybe too far from land right now for the trackers.
KerryJTaylor Posted November 4, 2014 #804 Share Posted November 4, 2014 Hi I'm sailing her in April and can't wait!!!! 👍 please can someone kindly answer a few questions for me?.... 1. Do the menus change every day for Dynamic Dining? Reason I ask is because I have opted for the Grande restaurant for several nights. 2. Is there a Starbucks onboard? (I'm guessing not as I haven't seen any mention of it...it's just that I loved this on Oasis class!. 3. Is there a champagne bar? 4. Do you reserve your time on the North Star? (Apologies if I have missed info on this on this thread) 5. Is the solarium adults only? 6. Is anyone in a Family Junior Suite? Do you have any pics? If not, please can you describe it? Thanks in advance! and thanks for all the reports so far! 👍 Sent from my iPhone using Forums

bobabooey Posted November 4, 2014 #806 Share Posted November 4, 2014 Hi Everyone - sorry for the delay in posting; it's been a relaxing day for us. Slept late, had lunch in the Windjammer and then had a massage. I'm sitting in Two70 now and just finished uploading many photos to the Shutterfly site. Enjoy! Tomorrow, I'll work on the Q&A and get it caught up. So glad we have a team of reporters to help answer questions! Thanks for being patient and understanding. Internet service has been spotty - can't wait to have the bandwidth from the new satellite! Here's a recap of the last 24 hours: 1. After snacks and beer at Michaels, we headed to Two70 (it is like a living room) and watched them set up for the night. There are screens that come down over the windows to project on to. 2. We then headed to the cabin to get ready for dinner and stopped for drinks in the Concierge Lounge on the way. The snacks are better than what we've had on other cruises. Sorry, I didn't get any pictures yet. 3. We had a lovely conversation with a couple that's been on over 100 cruises (they're Pinnacle). There are 54 Pinnacle guests onboard. 4. Dinner was at Wonderland, and wow, it's different! Really fun and good - photos of everything are on the Shutterfly site, and I've included a few highlights below. What's nice about the design of this ship is that the restaurants are all open into the common areas; however, it didn't really work for Wonderland because the music from the Bionic Bar across the way didn't mix well with the music in Wonderland. I'm sure Royal will figure it out. 5. After dinner, we went to the Music Hall - it is a great venue. The same Beatles cover band from Sunday night was playing, and people were having a lot of fun dancing. With the ship rocking and rolling, it was quite a sight to see. 6. Then we headed to the Casino. Lady luck finally showed up, and we had a good time playing Blackjack. 7. Slept in this morning, had lunch at the Windjammer. I'll take some pictures tomorrow because it's laid out really well. Plenty of seating, including an outdoor area. Food was fine - standard Windjammer. 8. Had a Hot Stone Massage at the Spa, which was excellent. The Spa is quiet and relaxing, and there is a Thermal Suite. I'll figure out what the deal with it is when I go back later this week. It had a keycard reader on the door. Sailing's gotten a little smoother today; although it's still a fun game of pinball walking up and down the halls. Who needs bumper cars?? :) Hi, is there a link to your photos on shutterfly?

jackparts Posted November 4, 2014 #810 Share Posted November 4, 2014 On the subject of the food. Since there have been menu changes, the free restaurants have what seem to be exotic food names, somewhat high end. Even tho we area seasoned cruisers, the side combinations might be a little out of our palate likes. Anyone try the buffets and opinions on the smaller venues like Johnny Rockets, Cafe270 and the Food Truck as to whether a charge or free?

Sugar*Magnolia Posted November 4, 2014 #812 Share Posted November 4, 2014 I hope the menus are the same as what is posted on the RCCL site because that's how we determined where to eat as well. Thinking the same thing @Patty!

seeshore Posted November 4, 2014 #824 Share Posted November 4, 2014 Thanks for all those who are posting valuable info here and also for the pics on Quantum Launchers! Just my opinion but many posters are asking way too many questions of those on Quantum who are trying to enjoy their vacation. Please give them a break and let them have some fun. As its been mentioned before, internet is slow and sometimes unreliable. The element of surprise can be a good thing. I know I'm looking forward to exploring and enjoying the new venues on Nov. 23.
