Life is Good Cruising Posted December 3, 2014 #26 Share Posted December 3, 2014 Does each Diamond member get 1 hour free usage, even if in the same cabin? If so, I can use one hour on my iPhone and one hour on my iPad. Might be all I need for my 9 day cruise in February. Thanks for your help. Yes, both DH and I received an hour each for the internet, so using it on both devices should be no problem.
Tyron Posted December 3, 2014 #27 Share Posted December 3, 2014 I am loving your review thus far! I'm glad to hear your cruise is off to a great start. loupana Posted December 3, 2014 Author #29 Share Posted December 3, 2014 DW did iFly this morning and loved it. We are in an Interior Virtual Balcony – category N #8133 – forward thought I would post a couple of pics of it. This is our first inside and I would not have a problem booking one of these again. loupana Posted December 4, 2014 Author #32 Share Posted December 4, 2014 I am loving your review thus far! I'm glad to hear your cruise is off to a great start. I had an amazing time last week on board the Quantum despite a few issues. Enjoy the wonderful Quantum of the Seas Thanks Tyron, I enjoyed your review last week as I was preparing for this trip. I knew going in that things may not be perfect. So I'm pleasantly surprised how great everything has been. Oh we were speaking to a staff member and their tablet froze and had to get another one, we did have to wait 30 seconds for her to get back to us....OH the humanity of this situation we were in:) I can only speak from our experience, we have nothing to complain about but lots of others are just looking for a bad time. Freedale Posted December 4, 2014 #33 Share Posted December 4, 2014 Thanks for the food pics, they make tonights dinner (which is whatever I find in the freezer) look very ordinary. What is the cost to eat at Jamies? Thanks Diane

Rare little britain Posted December 4, 2014 #40 Share Posted December 4, 2014 (edited) We have only used internet on Celebrity ships where you pay for minute usage. I guess with these rates I will not be using internet on board. On 14 day cruises I use maybe an hour total. It is more to touch base with family while away, a few minutes here a few minutes there. I could not begin to justify cost for unlimited length of cruise for my internet needs. I am really disappointed with this part of our upcoming cruise. Thanks for the heads up and the great food pics. On the TA they offered a 60min package for $29.95 which did not have to be used consecutively. It was great and I could log on for a few minutes a couple of times a day to keep in touch. I wonder why they are not offering this now. Yes the food is Maybe wishful thinking but the food likes like an upgrade from the MDR a year ago. Yes the food definitely is better than on any other RCI ship I have been on. Edited December 4, 2014 by little britain

loupana Posted December 5, 2014 Author #42 Share Posted December 5, 2014 Lots of relaxing today in the Solarium, just love it there. Arrived in San Juan just before 4PM couldn't get off the ship till about 4:30. Getting tired of all the people complaining. Most of what I hear has nothing to do with Technology yet they keep saying technology is failing (e.g. "Room service woke me up three days in a room knocking on the room next door, this is not a smart ship this is a S&*t ship") hmm not sure how technology is to blame here but what ever. Another good one is "when I complain on Carnaval they give me a 20% discount, here they offer me nothing..." Oh here is one of my favorites, "I hate this smart ship, why build a smart ship when the customers are unsmart with technology" (yup you read that one right). I have to stop I'm beginning the sound like them. Again my experience has been great, I've not had any issues with dinning reservations onboard (like everyone I did have problems with my cruise planner before the cruise). Tonight we had late dinning time and for the second time we went 2 hours early and were seated right away. Last night was Chic tonight was American Icon Grill. Dinner tonight was nothing amazing but it was good. Desert was one of the best we've had so far. Here are our American Icon Grill pics... karmacats Posted December 5, 2014 #44 Share Posted December 5, 2014 I am loving your food pictures. They are the best food porn I've seen about quantum! I see I will be getting two desserts at American Icon... :D Could you please tell us where you docked at San Juan? Are you at the port near old town where you can just walk off the ship and be at the shops and near the fort? I'm on the Jan 3 sailing and we also arrive at 4 pm, so my plan for the evening was just to get off the ship and wander, if we're at the port where that's possible. I know there's another port that I've heard is about a 15 minute drive from old town, and there was speculation that we might stop there instead. I have not been to san juan before, so I hope this makes sense! Thanks!

Yes Quantum docks in old San Juan, when you walk off cross the street and the fort is not far, just a bit to the right up the hill... The other cruise port is for ships that leave from San Juan. Mass2Cruise Posted December 5, 2014 #49 Share Posted December 5, 2014 Do you recall, what were some other appetizers, soups & main entrees at American Icon. Any other side menus? You should be able to get the menu off Royal's site. They had the menu for Michaels and Jamie Oliver's on there. Look under the planning section for Quantum. The dining info is there. Just find the American Icon on there. I know there are menus on the new cruise planner online. You can view them as long as you have a cruise booked. Just log in to your my cruises and navigate to the dining options.
JemzRoo Posted December 5, 2014 #50 Share Posted December 5, 2014 (edited) So... uhh.... How about I send you $4 via paypal and in exchange you buy a jar of pickles from Michael's so I can see them? :D I mean.. Unless you were going to order pickles anyway? ;) If the pickles are good then I don't care how bad the technology is. Okay that's probably a lie. I love pickles.
