I Found a Great Rate

Why don't we create a thread for best (cheapest) possible rates found. Give the Sailing Date, Ship, # Days, Category Selection (interior, ocreanview or balcony) and price found.

I missed out on booking a great balcony cabin on a 5 night January 2015 sailing for $279 plus tax on Thanksgiving week for a few reasons and a thread like this would be helpful I think.

Hate to say this, but I think you'll end up with a lot of people upset and with hard feelings by posting such specific info. But what we ended up getting was:

Freedom of the Seas eastern Caribbean. April 19, 2015

Family of five. Family Promenade Cabin. $2835 including all port charges and taxes and including $100 OBC.

I got an 8 day on Independence in a grand suite for April 25th, 2015 for $1600

per person. It may not seem that great to some people, but we are thrilled. I

booked a year ago and got a bogo deal in May that really was a deal. Original

price was $2200 per person.:)

It makes no sense to have a thread as suggested by the OP simply because so many people have different things that they may qualify for which therefore would make posting a fare, ineffective for many.

Any examples of what things you mean??? Such as travel agent special promotions, etc?

Senior, residency, C&A discounts; It is disconcerting when people talk about some special rate that they got and then when others go to look into it, nothing close to it appears.

Often times people will also brag about some rate that they got, without clearly stating what cabin category it was in.....and someone wastes their time searching for it, only to later learn it was for a cabin type or on a deck or in a location that they would not be interested in.

Exactly, happened to me 1 time, someone posted about a great rate. I want to go look and it wasn't even close. When I ask for clarification the poster had Senior & Residency plus Diamond discount. If this thread is going to work people have to stick with the RCI website's advertised price cause there are way too many other variables.

Gotcha. Makes sense. My rate that I posted was fully legit. This is our first RCI cruise, so no C & A discount, senior, military, residency, etc. We originally booked our cabin at $3600 for the 5 of us. After August's WOW sale and KSF promos applied to our existing booking (which they did apply, surprisingly), brought us down to where we're at now. We are having our TA check on pricing and availability on an FO cabin, so what we have may change, but if we lose the sale pricing, we won't switch. Our final invoice will be more, as we are adding prepaid gratuities and possibly drink packages, but what I stated above is our fare including all taxes and fees.

In addition someone will post an outrageous rate and it is for a sailing that is for a cruise within the next 30 days or less (very last minute booking) without mentioning the sail date.

I was on a recent sailing that we had booked about 3 weeks before embarkation and got a very good cabin price. It would have been ridiculous to post something like that. When we booked it, there were probably 5 cabins left in the category and within hours or minutes those might have been totally gone.

Agreed that senior, military or Crown & Anchor rates don't apply. If you want to post about a residency rate at least post what state you are in.

I think I was pretty clear however asking for date, ship & class of cabin. Sorry if some people like spoon feeding but I'm willing to do a little self-research to see itinerary and other info.

I was glad that someone posted about the Navigator rate $399 for a JS last New Year's for May 2014.

If not I wouldn't have known about it.

Does anyone know if RCL repeats the same sales promos annually? Looks like the beginning of May 2014 they had a BOGO sale and the sale I had missed in Nov was a Balcony sale in collaboration with Black Friday.

I've never been able to discern a pattern in Royal's "sales".

I doubt it was a boo-boo, pricing on 7 night sailings can dip to the $259-299 range. Yes if it's a Jr Suite that seems a bit too good to be true but I cannot image their system having a hiccup.

There have been a few great hiccups over the past year.

Last year I posted on here about a deal that I found. It was a D2 balcony cabin on the Freedom for the Christmas cruise for $279pp CDN or $369pp US. They mistakenly took $1299 off he price instead of dropping the price to $1299. The price only lasted about an hour but a few people on here were able to enjoy the fantastic rate for a holiday sailing.

For the example that you quoted that was as I remember a JS and here were great rates on other suites as well.

I was able to get that rate as well thanks to Ken's "Deal Alert" post.

I think the best way to alert folks is how you did it Ken. Just start a new thread here on CC with the particulars.

Surely you are kidding, but I don't see any emoticon to indicate that. RCI's IT ability is laughable.
