We tried the new menu the last time we were on the Summit. The steak was very good, ribs ok, and the crepes of course still delicious. Thought is was a great dining experience.

Wow...after looking closer at this "new" menu (which BTW was not on Connie last week), I see they will have my salad on Tuesday! Now I'm excited (at least for Tuesdays)!

Hi Shawn - I was on the Constellation for 16 days (NOV 2014). When I dined in Bistro on Five, this menu was available at that time. Not sure why the menu would have been unavailable to you on your recent cruise.

The clan chowder was very good served in a fresh bread bowl. Except for the embarkation day, it was empty every time we ate there (three times total).

Celebrity should transform these spaces into a News and Sports Bar venue with large screen TVs and modest 'upcharge' bar food.

During NFL season fans are jammed into the Casino bar trying to catch the games. Current News, Soccer, and other sports would also be a draw and Celebrity would increase back end revenue! I mention this on each post cruise survey.

Celebrity is trying that with Cellar Masters on Equinox having transformed that area into GastroBar. When I was on Equinox that bar was pretty empty most nights also, although I think it is a great concept. My guess is many people are still having a hard time paying for food when they can go up a couple of decks for "free" (included) food.

Just my own personal thoughts on this topic...

I think that the menu was "too pricey" and "too fancy" for most people cruising on Celebrity. I am NOT saying that I think Celebrity cruisers cannot appreciate what was offered, but that the price point and the exotic offerings were not in sync with what cruisers are willing to pay for.

While this concept appealed to me and a segment of the Celebrity cruisers, the appeal is not enough to keep the place busy or sell large amounts of the food. I personally think that a better imagined "English Pub" concept with pub favorite food items, associated beers, and a variety of sports television screens that would pull people into the bar would have been the way to go.

My apologies for the "off topic" comment. Please resume the current program already in progress....

Yes, that's very puzzling. The server we had said he had never seen the Salade Niçoise (he was new), and nor had the other server who worked at Bistro on 5 for the past year or two...

Hopefully this menu will be available on the Solstice in August (fingers crossed).

Hi Everyone,

I think the new Bistro Menu looks great ! I hope it tastes as good as it looks. I'm especially pleased that Celebrity retained many of the old favorites, while adding many new and tempting items.

I thought I had read, that the Bistro menu updates were expected to be introduced fleetwide by the end of April, but I'm unable to confirm this.

To the member asking about Equinox - The new Bistro menu was *not* available in the first week of February. Hopefully a recent Equinox guest can share an update with us. If not, I'm sailing on Equinox in 3 weeks, and will be sure to provide an update.

Hope this helps !

The new menu does look good and just might entice me to try it again. As for the old menu, if I wanted craps, I would either go to Paris or to the Casino.

As for the Porch, they really need to shake it up a bit to get me to go back.

I have been a fan of Bistro on Five since launched on the Solstice. Whether $5 or $7 I found the old menu a good value for a nice lunch, and the crepes have always been excellent. I will look forward to sampling a good portion of the expanded menu while on my next Celebrity cruise!

Do they have a gluten free menu?

Probably not a separate gluten free menu, but if items on the menu are or can be made gluten free, the menu will have that designation as they do in the MDR.

The "new" menu we got on Summit 3/14/15 didn't have any designations about GF.

My MIL who is celiac was able to ask what was gluten free, and most of the fillings and salads were gluten free (of course without croutons and crepe!!). She enjoyed one of the chicken fillings and chef's salads.

Thanks for letting us know.

In looking back at what I wrote, it would have been more appropriate to say "should have a GF designation" versus "will have a GF designation". While I remember the menu, I wasn't looking specifically for the GF designation the day I was dining in Bistro on Five.
