There has been a few posts about this. Sounds like they are all ok but will be late into cairns.

They be out at sea somewhere. Its the safest place for them to be at the moment. They about 825km from Cairns according to this site.

That article looks like a classic case of scaremongering by the publisher. Surely they've got enough sense to realise that ships don't have to sit still waiting for a cyclone to cross their path, unlike those on land. Ships have the ability to keep clear unless, of course, they are somewhere like in the middle of the Panama Canal with no manoeuvering room.

Looks like Rhapsody is currently heading north away from Yeppoon and is on the far north eastern side of the cyclone area.

I believe it was posted on twitter with the accompanying comment 'omg theres a cruiseship in the middle of the cyclone' or similar :rolleyes:

 

It did look like that when you compared the two pictures - the marine traffic one and the BOM one - but common sense says there is no way a ship's captain would allow his ship to be in the middle of a cyclone unless there was absolutely no alternative.

They were being used. Reports yesterday of several vomit spots on the pool deck. I witnessed one horrible woman using one (more than once) while sitting with her husband in the windjammer. If she was feeling sick she shouldn't be going to where people are eating...and definitely shouldn't continue to sit there while vomiting. It was disgusting.

 

The concierge lounge was missing about 1/2 the usual partipants (based on the first few nights).

 

Earlier today they had the pool deck shut down entirely and weren't letting anyone out to the outside decks, and also instructions to not use the cabin balconies.

 

But now we are through it with calm seas and sunny skies.

Thanks everyone for your concern, Rhapsody of the Seas altered it's course today to travel east of the storm and we can confirm the ship is now well clear of Cyclone Marcia, travelling north to Cairns. The weather is clear and the ship is expected to arrive in Cairns between 9 and 10am Saturday 21 February, one to two hours behind her original schedule.
