Mumsysailor Posted March 28, 2015 #131 Share Posted March 28, 2015 My sound kept cutting out on me, too, but I counted at least 25 toots, some really looong ones.! Way to go, Westie.:D Don't worry. There's no way the sound will cut out for us in two weeks time.
AV8rix Posted March 28, 2015 #132 Share Posted March 28, 2015 My first time watching a sailaway...so exciting! Does anyone know if there is a webcam to watch sailaways from Seattle? No, not for HAL (who sails from the Smith Cove terminal). I think that there may be a "downtown" port webcam -- for NCL, RCI, etc. Which line are you on? Himself Posted March 28, 2015 #142 Share Posted March 28, 2015 I enjoyed watching the Westerdam sail away today. Two weeks from today she begins her long journey to the Panama canal and then a long treck to Seattle for the Alaska season.

rkacruiser Posted March 28, 2015 #144 Share Posted March 28, 2015 It just makes me smile when I hear her and know who the Captains is. Can't wait for you all to meet him. Captain van Eerten is one of the most guest-friendly HAL Masters whom I have met. He was the Volendam's Staff Captain in 2012 when I was aboard. And, I still cannot believe that he remembered me (he really did; I could tell from our coversation) when I met him again in 2013 aboard the Westerdam. I thought if there is a webcam my family in Utah could watch the sailaway as we did today from Port Everglades.
