CruiserBruce Posted March 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 29, 2015 The more important question is : what are you doing up at 2:45 checking on whether or not the US has changed our clocks????? :D:D;)

gerryl12 Posted March 29, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 29, 2015 The clocks spring forward but not everywhere. Some states do not change the time just to keep everyone on their toes.

zqvol Posted March 29, 2015 #9 Share Posted March 29, 2015 It just adds a little confusion to an already messy situation Try living in Arizona which is the hold out. Sometimes it is 3 hours difference to the east coast, other times 2, and with relatives in the east you need a math degree to keep things straight. And some of the northern Native American tribes in Arizona change clocks, or at least this was the case when we lived in Williams, Az a number of years ago. OP, we did the clock change the first Saturday in March. I'm another who wishes this stupidity of clock changing would end.

toberman Posted March 29, 2015 #13 Share Posted March 29, 2015 (edited) what the time difference is now. You may only have 1 time zone in the UK but there are 4 in the US and 6 in Canada, so it depends on where in the US you want. The east coast is 4 hours behind London (GMT) time now. As you go west it gets greater. Edited March 29, 2015 by toberman

Now I understand, it makes perfect sense.:) We Brits. answer the 'call of nature' a little later than most folk. So we can take our 'bathroom break', and re set the clocks without having to get up twice! john

Due to the clocks switching forward UK is now 5 hours in front of East Coast time...it was 4 hours ahead for a few weeks while we did the clock thing. Ergh...I lost an hour down time today. Krazy Kruizers Posted March 29, 2015 #20 Share Posted March 29, 2015 We were on HAL's Zuiderdam when the clocks were moved forward -- once during the night, and two times at Noon -- because of itinerary.
dsrdsrdsr Posted March 29, 2015 #21 Share Posted March 29, 2015 It's a good month for tracking the baseball, is March. Spring Training starts off with the Brewers 5 hours difference by Eastern time, 6 hours by Milwaukee time, but 7 hours in Arizona where they're actually playing. Then the Americans change their clocks, so it's all an hour different, except in Arizona where they don't change their clocks, and three weeks later the UK changes its clocks. By this time I've given up trying to watch the games because by the time I've worked out when it starts, it's already finished! ;) PS - America being further south, the daylight saving perhaps matters a bit less. But in the UK, the extra hour of evening daylight is a big plus. There are people who want double daylight saving for extra measure. It's not a universal view to think it's stupid. It's not calculus.
