getting between ships?

We are sailing on the Sunshine May 16th. Then when we get off, we are going on the Sensation also from Port Canaveral, same day. Is there any way to get from one ship to the other with out dragging our luggage behind us? If they're docked next to each other we'll walk but rather notr if they aren't next to each other.

You'll definitely have to move your own luggage . You'll clear customs and immigration and then wait until check in starts. Your on your own for a couple of hours between cruises.

Are both ships Carnival? I have no idea.

If they are, with a nice tip you might be able to get someone to transfer your luggage for you.

Like Kamloops said, YOU need to take your bags through the customs and immigration. Someone else should not be taking others luggage through customs.

A logical suggestion, but logic is often beyond the pay scale of ICE personnel. Unless you can get clear confirmation from a responsible party at Carnival, it would be risky to impossible to ask someone on your first ship to arrange it for you.

Yes, of course, one has to take their own property through CBP check.

We have done it many dozens of times with the assistance of a porter. We have the porter stack our luggage on his cart, he escorts us to an Inspection Official, we clear and he rolls our luggage out of the terminal to our waiting transportation or taxi.

For a nice tip, I am rather sure holding at least $20+ in your hand will get him/her to roll it next door to hand it over to a stevedore at your next ship. Most of them will do most any legal thing if tipped enough and asked nicely enough.

How much is it worth to you?

See my suggestion above. :)

When we travel, we enjoy all the help we can get/buy. :D

Right - one of the porters at the terminal could be asked - especially if check-in for the second leg were nearby. I had thought you were referring to one of your first ship's staff. 🐇Sorry.

Two cruises from the same port. Get off the first one as late as possible. No point in hurrying. If you want grab a cab and go to the store to get any needed supplies. If not you can walk between ships or take a cab between ships (but if you do that give teh guy a really big tip because he is missing his fare.)

Disembarkation from the first ship will be just like on any other cruise, and boarding the second ship will be just like boarding any other.

A word to the wise be careful what you purchase on your second cruise duty allowances change when you go through customs twice within 30 days.

If you decide to take a taxi to a store, do not leave your property alone in the taxi with the driver while you go in the store. At least one person should remain in the taxi, with the meter running, or you could come out to find taxi and your luggage gone.

If you hang out and are one of the last off the first cruise, then tip a porter to help you take your bags to the next cruise and check the bags in, then you will likely still have some time before you can actually board the new ship. You could, at that point, take a cab to a store for anything you forgot or need to restock, and either leave one person in the cab or just call for a new cab when you got finished shopping. At least you would not have to worry about your bags for that time.

email with the details of your 2 cruises to cclsupport@carnival.com

In the subject line put attention Mishelle

We were on the Freedom out of Port Everglades in January. a when we got off of the Freedom we went on the Conquest out of Port Everglades the same day; however, it was a 10 pm departure as the Conquest was repositioning to Port Everglades that day. they let the cruisers off in Miami and then sailed to Port Everglades.

We stayed on the Freedom as long as possible and went through customs. Right outside there was a luggage crate where people going on the Conquest left their luggage. Carnival then took it to the ship. We received a letter the night before the end of the Freedom cruise with instructions on it and an in-transit pass. Mishelle told me in the email, we would get an in-transit pass. This surprised me. We had already arranged free transportation between terminals with our parking people. We just had to ride back to the lot and then they took us to the new terminal. The 2 terminals were far apart. Another couple said Carnival did provide transportation between terminals for them, but they had to wait quite a while. Our PVP also wrote B2B on our cruise booking and we got the champagne and fruit basket at the beginning of the second cruise just like you do when you stay on the same ship. I took Mishelle's email with me but did not need it as the ship had everything organized. We did check with Guest Services the day we boarded and they assured us everything would be taken care of and that we would receive instructions the last night.

Seriously? Have you ever had a problem? I've never heard of this type of scenario where a cab driver, whose cab number and name most people will have at least looked at, absconded with a passenger's luggage. He would absolutely be fired and arrested.
