JF - retired RRT Posted May 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 13, 2015 Saw that this morning on another thread when someone had a question about the cost of a coffee card. If you use the Personalizer to order the coffee card, it costs $33.35. If you use the "old" pre-order method and use the fax in form (or most likely also if you call to order), it still costs $31.00. Kind of a sneaky way to grab a couple of extra $$$ from you:rolleyes: Just sayin'
Nezmo Posted May 13, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted May 13, 2015 Perhaps the price is just going up and the old way has not updated yet. I doubt it's some master plan by Princess :D. Anyway, I had recently been searching to how to pre-purchase and it was a head-shaker that it wasn't an option to do simply online. Problem solved now I guess. skiladyldp Posted May 13, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 13, 2015 I like having that option. If they would now let you add the internet package that would be great too.
caribill Posted May 13, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 13, 2015 Perhaps the price is just going up and the old way has not updated yet. . No, that is the price if you purchase it on the ship (including gratuity). For some reasons unknown to mankind, it was less if you ordered it by phone or FAX. Well, I think there's more change down the back of the sofa cushions than the difference we are worried about here.

Far too sensible. There are people who post here who are concerned about paying sales tax on their sail-away drink. Apparently they live in one of the few states without a sales tax, and they are not used to it.
greenie082756 Posted May 14, 2015 #9 Share Posted May 14, 2015 I think this is fantastic to pay for something you know you are going to get anyways. I was telling the DH a few weeks ago, wish I could prepay my coffee card and his soda card. And POOF! There it is.. :D Well I think this will open the door for so much more to be prepaid. That would be good for Princess and us. I think its great and will help with the budgeting for the cruise.

This allows you to make an online pre-purchase, but you were always able to pre-purchase bu calling or faxing Princess.
skiladyldp Posted May 15, 2015 #14 Share Posted May 15, 2015 crochetcruise- You can call Princess or fax them to order the internet package ahead of time. It's best to order before boarding because they will give you bonus time. I will just ask my TA to call it in for me. I like to order myself if I can do it online but I leave the calling to Princess to my TA.

We are Platinum, but we have deaf adult children at home and a toddler granddaughter who likes to see us every couple of days. I had intended to buy boxed chocolates as a Thank You Gift for my TA and the office team who have been wonderful to me. Also looking at getting the Soda and More package-not sure if I can get the All-Inclusive Alcohol package here in Australia, something to do with Liquor licensing requirements I read on another thread-hope so, for it would be much easier budget-wise for me and the minimum Internet package-have a couple of websites I need to log into daily to accrue loyalty points and redeem special "Sample Offers" which help with my budget-the products are sample-sized which is handy for cruising, and I've found several new products I wouldn't have spent the money-even if on special-because I wouldn't have thought it worth me trying it, and I'm now a fanatical user of the hand cream which REALLY helps keep my hands lovely and smooth. I also want a Professional Photo of my Belated 50th Birthday Cruise as a memento, so carefully budgeting-do, in a Window Suite, get a "sitting" with the photographer so just need to allow payment for the photo. A friend told me to gift myself On Board Credit for the Casino and shopping-souvenirs carefully planned. Crochetcruise

I am aware it was available by phone or fax. As is so much more.. To me though, this is just one more click as I'm doing my online reservation. Its faster and more convenient for me :D Just imagine if they make this a larger menu to choose from as your clicking away! $$$
go4ak Posted May 16, 2015 #18 Share Posted May 16, 2015 In trying to evaluate the value of the beverages and more card... what would the cost be for a glass of coke, or a hot chocolate, or a mocktail? Speaking of mocktails? I know of the virgin pina colada, and the virgin bloody mary - but what others are available? Thanks.

Lulubelle45 Posted May 16, 2015 #21 Share Posted May 16, 2015 (edited) Re the soda and more card. Well worth it IMO a mocktail is around $5 so 2 drinks a day pays for it. Try the Nojito and my favorite, Key West Cooler. Those I sipped on all day plus a fountain diet soda. Never did get a hot chocolate but did have the milkshake!!! Plus the gratuity is paid on the card not the number of drinks. Edited May 16, 2015 by Lulubelle45

Colo Cruiser Posted May 17, 2015 #23 Share Posted May 17, 2015 Can you buy a beverage package for just one person in the stateroom or do all have to buy? When it started everyone had to purchase. Now it is PP. Not sharable and not pro ratable. :)
Nezmo Posted May 17, 2015 Author #24 Share Posted May 17, 2015 (edited) Thank you, Colo CruiserAwesome spreadsheet. That is extremely helpful. I think this one is more up to date. Plus it has the package cost before tip so it's consistent with the pre-tip drink prices.
