What is the chance they can get back to Boston anywhere near on time?

Due Friday early A.M.

Me thinks that would depend entirely on what the hull inspection by divers reveals tomorrow in daylight S7S

I just tried to do a couple of "dummy" bookings for the Dawn.

Could not get anything for May 22 or May 29.

Only shows bookings starting with June 5.

Maybe those 2 other dates are sold out - but there was no mention of that.

In Frankfurt right now and BBC NEWS said the the NCL Dawn is heading back to Boston!

Only caught the tail end of the news!

Hoping all on board are safe and this was the end of their cruise and was scheduled to go back to Boston!

I hope that they can get into port. Can they also dock in St George?

The Breakaway is so large that Bermuda had to do significant upgrades to the pier at the Dockyards before it could dock there. We were on the Summit when the Breakaway made its inaugural voyage to Bermuda, and I will say that that it's one very large ship. There is nowhere else in Bermuda that it could dock.

Since no one was hurt and all seems OK for now I will say my theory:

Word got out about the new fees for room service and passengers all started loudly complaining about it. the Captain heard the complaints and replied with "Don't make me pull this ship over".

the rest is now history

PTZ tweet says Norwegian Breakaway is anchoring at Grassy Bay as Dawn is at her dock. I wonder if she'll move to the dock now.

Tooting! :-)

Looks like the Breakaway is moving now - going to dock.

I think those ships are too big to make the cut to dock at St. George's.

Veendam cannot make it anymore. She used to be able to until they added more weight to her aft. Veendam docks in downtown Hamilton but those NCL ships and Celebrity cannot. Celebrity's Zenith used to dock in Hamilton as we were on that ship in Hamilton and we moved during the week to St. George's. Being docked in those two places (back then) was great.

Quite right. Still I'm glad to be going on Veendam to Hamilton. Much better than the Dockyard. Made three trips years back on the old Pacific Princess. That ship was so small (about 20,000 tons) that it visited all three dockings while in Bermuda.
