Television series participants will be provided with their dream activities, however guests will not be provided with complimentary cruises or upgraded staterooms on their trip. Applicants traveling on Holiday sailings; that include, but are not limited to Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve, are not eligible to participate in the program.

Looks like you're in luck! :)

Nice! TY for posting that. I guess they figure the ships will be so overly jammed during those times with people who pay premium prices that they can't fit the camera crews in! :p:D

I know what it is...absolutely positive...

NCL freestyle is changing to....

NCL feestyle :D

I like it and you are likely correct. Although my money is still on an announcement regarding the kid's franchise that will replace Nick in 2016.

Just an attempt an humor (I actually don't mind the fee for upgraded services), but seriously a cruise to Australian would be amazing!

I know I chose Cuba but wait...the Pride leaving from San Francisco to Hawaii in May 2016???? pick up from dry dock or maybe a twice a year cruise??

It is March 15, 2016 sailing from SFO to HNL. Drydock pushed in about a month ago. Has also been able to book for about a month.

well, this Mon NCL releases quarterly #s.

and there SHOULD be a teleconference between NCL mgmt. and analysts/major investors to discuss the #s that any shareholder can listen in on.

maybe someone will ask the question about this big AUG 4th announcement?

Or, maybe everybody will be patient and just wait until August 4th.

Maybe THAT way, they'll have time to iron-out all of the intricacies of the announcement, so that the trillion questions which will immediately emerge on CC might be answerable.

Patience or not, considering that this is an announcement for Travel Partners that will be given during the regular monthly webinar, I don't think they are really all that concerned about the endless questions from Cruise Critic.

Although they probably would care more if the announcement was for the general public

I think it has to do with another "a la carte" innovation ...

"For the convenience of our passengers, and to help preserve our environment, as of January 1, all Norwegian Cruise Line ships will introduce the "Your Choice" toilet and shower program. For just one dollar for each toilet flush, and two dollars for every five minutes of showering, you are empowered to find the best balance between your bodily comfort, and the needs of Mother Earth.

If you prefer, you may pre-order our special "Universal Bathroom Credit" (UBC). For a mere $5 per day of your cruise, you can enjoy unlimited toilet and shower privileges.*

In either case, all public restrooms will be card activated, with the $1 convenience fee deducted from your on board account."

*"unlimited" means up to five toilet flushes per day, and one 5 minute shower. This policy and pricing may change at any time for any reason, either before or after boarding.

Thanks for the info. I hoped for this to be a yearly thing so the DH and I could enjoy in 2017 as an anniversary gift to each other. Not loving the Princess 15 day as it was too many sea days.

Someone just posted a thread re inside info that Gordan Ramsey has inked a deal with a major cruiseline for a new restaurant. Supposed to be announced "early August". They just announced that Zakharian is out, sooooo,

Could this be the "big announcement"?

OUCH!!! You do realize that the thread you are reading is for people to speculate about the announcement?

As for NCL ironing out details..... I've been booked on the Escape since January and NCL can't even get their port times straight. .....just sayin'

  • 2 weeks later...

Haven't read through the whole thread but I think the email I received this morning is involved I would suspect. NCL canceled all cruises on the Star from 10/23/16 to 4/16/17. My son's senior year spring break in which we had a suite on our favorite itinerary with his best friend.

The options they gave us stink. NCL can make this right - transferring the reservation and perks to a new ship - or I am done with NCL.

Can you sell cruise rewards?

a very unhappy Angela

I am so bummed too. Star cruise Thanksgiving 2016 cancelled which was supposed to be our wedding @ Honduras and a Suite with all the extras UBP, Gratuities, Ultimate Dining, OBC etc. for our family of 8. One Suite and one interior. Now to see what the "exciting and exotic new itineraries" are going to be.

The rescheduling options are not even close to making it right. I am hoping the Jade cruises the same week :-(

I'm guessing this is the big announcement (this was sent to someone whose cruise was cancelled:

On Monday, August 3, 2015, Norwegian Cruise Line will announce exciting and exotic new itineraries for the Fall/Winter 2016/2017 deployment, bringing the world to guests who want to explore new sights while experiencing the freedom and flexibility that only Norwegian Cruise Line can offer.

Do you think the announcement is

"We treat our customers horribly?" <---------- that's what it appears right now.

The positive for us is that there are lots of other cruise lines. We have 3 high school age sons and a 3rd grade son. They have enjoyed every cruise line we have gone on. NCL was our first cruise and they have held a special place in our heart. I think it's turning into a dysfunctional relationship.

We are going on Holland America over Thanksgiving. Any day at sea is better!

So sad for you! We love Roatan! NCL needs to make this right other than their crappy, not even relevant offer.

Wow that is outrageous. I am beginning to see why a lot of people are unhappy with the NCL corporation (as opposed to the ships and crews). They keep making changes, some big, some small, and you feel like booking a cruise is like being in a casino, playing roulette, or slots, or poker. Maybe you win, maybe you lose. But that's not how it should be when booking a cruise, especially for a special event in your life. :(

Yes and no. Booking a cruise way in advance seems to be the gamble. You wouldn't expect to see itinerary changes 6-9 months out, but 1+ years...yeah. It happens. I have a future sailing booked on RCI that I'm only 80% sure that we'll take in case they decide to re-position the ship.
