Accessor Posted September 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2015 We have two choices. Need advice please. Penthouse Deck 11 Cabin 1502 which is all the way forward as high as you can go and partially under the gym...Or Deck 11 Cabin 1654 which is almost all the way Aft. Rooms above us. Some shade. Concerns are forward will be super windy and no privacy with the wing from the bridge. All the way back shady and longer walks to elevators. Please chime in if you have been this far forward or aft on S class. Need to know ASAP as they are holding both for us! Thank you! Mark
We're The Groupnors Posted September 9, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 9, 2015 We would always choose aft. The few times we have been forward DH has always gotten seasick, but not so when our cabin is aft.

Never considered it, I don't get seasick but my DW is prone to motion sickness
jelayne Posted September 9, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 9, 2015 I would book the aft, much prefer cabins above & below
DennisAndJudy Posted September 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 10, 2015 Depending on what part of the gym is above you, it can be very noisy. Very early.
Pushka Posted September 10, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 10, 2015 It looks like it might just be under the first of the treadmills. I prefer fwd and have never been seasick. Maybe depends on the itinerary. But the gym might be the issue.

cruiserone Posted September 10, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 10, 2015 The aft!! The Aft! The walk feels good after dinner. We have been in 1667 and will have that cabin on the Equinox as well as 1665. The aft is quiet and the wake is mesmerizing!! We love it. Go, have fun and enjoy the aft:D
CathyCruises Posted September 10, 2015 #9 Share Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) It's just as far from the front of the ship to the front elevators as it is from the aft of the ship to the aft elevators. Don't let that make your decision, go with cabins above! Aft! I've been all the way forward and it is also extremely noisy in the AM when docking, anchoring etc. at least on solstice it was. . . We changed cabins to the Aft cabin. It's crazy the ONLY cabin on Sept 22 sailing of Solstice you can book is the forward cabin we just released. ONE cabin left for the entire sailing? How often does this happen? Thank you everyone for reassuring me this was the best choice. No worrying about any early morning gym rats waking us up... makkblin Posted September 10, 2015 #12 Share Posted September 10, 2015 We've sailed in 1501 and 1502 on the Solstice several times. My wife doesn't sleep well so we've taken advantage of having the Relaxing Lounge for the spa as our private lounge. Usually the water is still hot for tea and very quiet. Solon Posted September 10, 2015 #13 Share Posted September 10, 2015 Go aft! Then you can nip up to the cafe and grab some sushi before dinner to enjoy in your cabin! Otherwise it is a long trek to a forward cabin.

Otherwise it is a long trek to a forward cabin. That's what we liked! We would eat sushi before a later dinner in the Sunset a Bar. I liked a midaft so I could get to Cafe Bacio in the am for lattes! Yes, just the stairs and elevators on the S-Class mid-ship and forward.
Redtravel Posted September 12, 2015 #18 Share Posted September 12, 2015 Solstice ships are for walking. Regardless of where your cabin is located, you will walk. Check the S class stinky postings for comments on cabins. I have often selected cabins based on what people post.
flames9 Posted September 12, 2015 #19 Share Posted September 12, 2015 We only look at the aft AQ cabins on the S class ships! Have only sailed on the Silhouette, 1648 on the Med cruise and 1650 on our recent British Isles cruise! Very quiet rooms, no issues at all.
