The drink vouchers are only valid during the hours that the DL is serving drinks.

Our upcoming cruise will be our first as Diamond members. I kinda want to see the diamond lounge on Allure which used to be the CL.

 

But nice to know we can use the drinks at any bar during this time.

It's done because sometimes the Diamond lounge is so crowded....it gives you options!

Theoretically it is both but since the hours for the lounge cocktail hours and the hours for the vouchers are the same few hours, a person can only be in one place at a time.

It gives you the option to get your "free" drink when you cruise with friends that do not have D status. As for the lounges being overcrowded...yes, it does happen! We have had to wait for seats on more than one ship. However, we were on the Grandeur and the D Concierge would beg us to come to the lounge because it was empty! We stayed at the bar lounge since our friends were first timers!
