Has any Royal Diamond members done status match on MSC?

Recommended Posts

Had submitted 3 or 4 have 1 msc booked for feb 17 and 2 royal booked and don't think I would book another msc unless I am completely blown away by my cruise

Submitted everything, twice, several months ago. Never heard a word from them. Since then I have booked one cruise with RCCL and another with Princess.

Forget MSC. Too flakey.

Everyone who picked up the phone had it taken care of pretty quickly.

Your loss.

Not my loss. Their loss, my gain. Do I really want to trust my life at sea with such a poorly run line? How will they react in an emergency if they can't even follow up with a simple email? Not taking chances with my family's lives

I submitted my status match information two weeks ago., No response. I called the main line last week to inquire and they told me to email the loyalty department, but gave me the wrong email address. Figured out correct email address and sent an email. I received an email telling me that they would contact me soon. No response. I called the loyalty office yesterday and the representative told me to call back in two In no less than two weeks. I booked a cruise with them last week and was very excited.. Due to this issue and another booking issue, I'm losing my enthusiasm.

I read on the MSC forum that their web form is losing submissions, so you may want to call them.

They managed not to lose the email addresses that were on the applications, since my wife and I have been getting their emails!

I was on their FB page yesterday to ask why I hadn't heard from them. I found a recent post from someone who had problems on a recent cruise. Apparently they had charges show up on their account that were not from their cabin (even after getting new cards) and the employees said that there was no way that could happen and it must be their charges. Also they apparently had a drink package but the bartenders couldn't figure out how to enter it correctly when getting drinks, so they were getting charged for them!

They do seem to be very poorly run. My enthusiasm for this deal is waning.

Same here.

However, I believe the issue with losing information from the web form was recent and temporary, because we used that web form about 6 months ago without a problem.

HI Yes, I am RC Diamond. I e-mailed them due to website problems, they e-mailed me forms on Monday. I sent them C and A, printed from RC website and filled out form. They processed and e-mailed it to me on Thursday. The card is computer printable. Easy and quick too.

Someone posted here a while back that the status matching was not a permanent thing. There was some sort of requiremement to cruise on MSC every so often. I never saw any details of this on MSC's website. Anyone else hear anything about the status matching not being permanent?

yes...was just reading that on the web-site. you must cruise once every 36 months to keep your points.

That's not a bad idea IMHO:)

this was on the web-site....

How can I keep my membership so that it doesn’t expire?

All you need to do is to complete at least one cruise in 36 months. And it is even easier to cruise with the Voyages Selections for MSC Voyagers Club members! After your cruise is completed, your points expiration date will automatically be extended for an additional 36 months from the date of your most recent cruise disembarkation date.

still trying to figure out how the points work...anyone know ??

this is what I see about how you earn points:

How to collect points

Each time you cruise with MSC Cruises you’ll earn more points to upgrade your membership level. You can collect points easily, quickly and in multiple ways.

The upgrade of your membership level is based on:

1) EXPERIENCE PURCHASED

EXPERIENCE

Cruise under

6 days - 5 nights

Cruises from

6 to 10 days -

5 to 9 nights

Cruises of more than

10 days - 9 nights Bella 200 points 500 points 700 points Fantastica 400 points 700 points 1000 points Wellness 600 points 1000 points 1500 points Aurea 600 points 1000 points 1500 points MSC Yacht Club 800 points 1500 points 2000 points

2) PRE-PAID ON BOARD SERVICES: MSC Voyagers Club members will earn 100 points every $150of pre-paid expenses made before the cruise on MSC packages and services included in the cruise booked*.

3) ONBOARD EXPENSES: You will earn 100 points for every $150 spent on board (excluding casino expenses). Assigned points for onboard expenses (including pre-boarding purchased shipboard credit) will only be applied to the MSC Voyagers Club Card holder making the final payment.

We done it a couple of months ago, it will take a couple of weeks for them to get back with you. You enter at the black level its their top level. Have not cruise with them yet but looking into them. I am booked up to late 2017

with two other TA's B2B

This board moves a lot faster than the MSC board.

Have any members here taken advantage of MSC matching Royal Caribbean status? It appears they will match (I think) their black card level to RCI Diamond. https://www.msccruisesusa.com/en-us/MSC-Voyagers-Club/Voyagers-Club.aspx

If anyone has done this how did you find the use of the actual perks and the process? I just submitted my info to MSC for the match. Interested to hear other experiences.
