Dunfer Posted December 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2015 I couldn't believe it. I logged on this morning to the RCI website to check how many cabins were still available on my March, 2016 cruise on Jewell, and low and behold, Cabin 7600 appeared. I had a forward port cabin booked (7036), and have been checking constantly for an opening of a hump or aft cabin. Called C&A this morning while still on the website, and had it switched this morning with no problem. (Happy Dance!!!)
cb at sea Posted December 23, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2015 I love the "hump" area...very convenient. Although, on Radiance class, the center hump balcony is no larger than a side balcony...the ones on the edge of the hump are deeper than normal. tugboat Posted December 23, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 23, 2015 Not a fan of hump cabins on the Radiance class. Too much Centrum noise for me. Is that too much noise during the day or after Mignight?
molly361 Posted December 23, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 23, 2015 Is that too much noise during the day or after Mignight? Nighttime- before midnight- If you are a late night person it won't bother you. We are not and now we always make sure to book a cabin several doors away from the Centrum area
NemoCrownie Posted December 23, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 23, 2015 Excellent cabin, no lifeboats under your balcony and center of the hump for great views. Jewel hasn't been refurbished so the evening entertainment isn't that loud, plus your cabin is behind another hallway wall. I'd be doing the happy dance, too. Dunfer Posted December 23, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted December 23, 2015 I've had hump cabins on Brilliance, same Deck 7, and the noise didn't bother us at al. The location is so much better than my previous cabin!
CarpeCerevisi Posted December 23, 2015 #10 Share Posted December 23, 2015 I had that cabin on the Jewel twice, latest being last September. Great cabin, great location. I've never had noise issues with hump cabins on that class of ship.

jaspercat Posted December 25, 2015 #12 Share Posted December 25, 2015 I too say Congratulations! I love the humps and cabin 7602 has been my favorite on the Jewel as well as Serenade! You'll love 7600. Have a great cruise.
Siora7777 Posted December 25, 2015 #13 Share Posted December 25, 2015 Not a fan of hump cabins on the Radiance class. Too much Centrum noise for me. I agree. I couldn't sleep on the Jewel a few nights. At one point I heard every word to YMCA during the 70's party night. It was very frustrating.
Clarea Posted December 25, 2015 #14 Share Posted December 25, 2015 Is that too much noise during the day or after Mignight? After 5 days on Brilliance, I would agree, stay away from the centrum staterooms if you want quiet during the day. Also, the centrum acts like a cigarette smoke distribution system for the casino. KJL53 Posted December 25, 2015 #15 Share Posted December 25, 2015 I had that cabin for 3 weeks in September and October. Very noisy until at least 11pm.

If you go to 'sea scanner' dot com - you can use that page for every cruise line - ever ship - and find all the empty cabins for the cruise you want - 1. pick cruise line - ship - and dates 2. the click on 'availability' 3. choose the cabin category you want 4. the site will show you which cabins are available

modem9 Posted December 25, 2015 #21 Share Posted December 25, 2015 We will no longer take any cabin within 5-6 rooms of the centrum on the Radiance Class. Jewel is the exception until it's drydock in April. We are on April Jewel TA and even though a great cabin is available on the hump with large balcony, the noise from the centrum would be so terrible we couldn't enjoy our sleep. It is often noisy until 12am and later. Unless you typically get to bed after midnight, I would avoid Centrum area cabins.
