Trying to decide what month Feb, Mar or Apr is best to cruise to Southern Caribbean out of San Juan. Did Southern itinerary 2 years ago in April and it was extremely windy from Ft Lauderdale until we returned 8 days later. I understand weather is unpredictable however would love to know others experiences/recommendations. Any day at sea is better than any day at work :)

I did a Southern Caribbean out of San Juan at the end of February 3 about four years ago and the weather was absolutely fantastic. It only rained one day in St. Lucia, but rained pretty much all day.

I can't wait to go back to do a southern itinerary next year in February.

You may want to note popular spring break times. I realize that the southern itineraries are not as popular since you have to fly to SJU, but that's when I did mine 4 years ago.

Thank you, I am looking at the Adventure April 16th out of San Juan.

April is our favorite month to cruise and Southern Caribbean is our favorite itinerary. Massachusetts and some other school districts in the northeast will be on vacation the week of April 16th, so airfare may be higher and there may be more kids onboard. For years I was an educator and was limited to traveling during school vacations. Now that I am retired, I can usually find cheaper airfare by cruising at the beginning or end of April.

We usually cruise around our anniversary which occurs just after spring break for most schools. The weather in 2014 was ideal. I'll be back the first week in May next year too.
